Best to stop reading after "Post Pandemic" @EricTopol
My ever growing cohort of Long Cövid patients couldn't earn a dime without WFH. Many acquired their new found disabilities in the workplace... They aren't rushing back
@hinchliffe1569 They are unbelievably bad! I went through their training programme once with a whistleblower and it was worse than the mental health first aid training! Ditto awful for chronic conditions esp long Covid, EDS, endo, fibromyalgia etc. a sympathetic 7 year old would do better x
They are not even waiting for the outcome of the #Timms review before handing #PIP assessments for tens of thousands of people over to non-clinical assessors. https://t.co/dDBNA5MuDu
DWP secretly exposes 150,000 PIP claimants to new assessment system that is ‘recipe for disaster’
The DWP is trialling an even worse assessment system on 150,000 PIP claimants. Af the moment, DWP employed healthcare professionals make the decisions on scoring - already a disaster rating conditions they often don’t understand. In this trial, it won’t even be professionals! 😱

Why? Well, the photo you have selected speaks volumes. The two workers are NOT protected from airborne viruses with those surgical masks & risks of sickness absence remain. They need #FFP3/ 2 #CleanAir take a look at : @covidinquiryuk@_CatintheHat@1goodtern@SupportingHH_UK
Sickness absence levels in the NHS (5.15%) are almost three times higher than in the private sector (1.8%) – and more than half as much again as staff in the rest of the public sector (2.9%)
Why?
Because of the NHS’s extraordinarily generous sick leave policies.
When @patmcfaddenmp wants to use PIP to ask "how do we help change your life", implies that disabled people are doing life wrong, and that all disabilities (including chronic illnesses can be "overcome") which just isn't true. Lots of people will need continuing support.

COVID didn't become less serious because we stopped talking about it. People are still catching it, still being reinfected and still developing Long Covid. This guide from the WH Network lays out exactly where we are in 2026 and what needs to change.
