6. Tolkien also imagined/invented Elvish writing systems: the Tengwar, the Cirth, the Sarati, the Runes of Gondolin, the Valmaric script. These are extremely complex and have rules too just like the Elvish languages.

2. Even if people often speak of "Elvish" these languages are many (! over 10) and very different from each other. They are all part of one family, like the Latin languages are all descended from Latin (French, Spanish, Italian).

5. People do not speak these languages not because Tolkien did not finish them (as often misguided people write) but because the grammar rules and words imagined by Tolkien have not (all) been published. We miss some of the explanations of the rules.

1. It is J.R.R. Tolkien who imagined and built the Elvish languages, that's why they are called "constructed languages" and not "natural".

In the book "The Father Christmas Letters" (image below from the deluxe edition) as printed and very badly edited strokes are missing in the tengwar text, reading was impossible until a photograph of the full page as drawn by J.R.R. Tolkien was published.

Even before the movies, a small community of users of Elvish languages emerged. But the words (Elf) Elves and Elvish/Elven being used in many fictional books and stories (movies, manga, etc.) created a lot of confusion.

It may simply mean that Tolkien wanted to write these more clearly on another piece of paper, as for example Tolkien did in two notes regarding √PEN- (PE:17). It is extremely difficult to be sure an Elvish word was definitely seen as unsuitable and rejected by Tolkien.

How do we know that Tolkien discarded an Elvish word?
The logical answer would be: the word was crossed out. In fact crossed-out words in a manuscript do not mean that the Elvish words are rejected or discarded.

It is not always easy to understand what are the meanings of #Elvish words. In the case of #Quenya luppo translated only "lump" it seems that #Tolkien also implied that it could be used as in English, a term of opprobrium.
So indeed Elves could curse and use vulgar language.
