Successful recently finished 21st Regional Programme Review Group and National Neglected Tropical Diseases Programme Managers’ meeting in EMR countries. #StrongerTogether#BeatNTDs
I was very happy to start my day with partners helping us to #BeatNTDs. My asks:
1. Shift from process to impact
2. Shift from disease-specific approaches towards integration & cross-cutting interventions
3. Shift from externally-driven programmes towards country ownership
Kicking off the @WHO#NTD meeting with @DrTedros & @SoceFallBirima#StrongerTogether To achieve better health we need to deliver on the 3 strategic shifts of the NTD roadmap; a focus on impact, a move to integrated programmes & most importantly a shift to country ownership
What does sustainability look like for NTD programmes - some guiding principles from @USAID - most importantly we need to recognise that these activities take time to develop & implement #Toward2030
🚨The AU & Rwanda have signed the Host Country Agreement on the headquarters of the African Medicines Agency (AMA).
The Agreement was signed by @RwandaHealth, Dr Sabin Nsanzimana, & AU Commissioner for @AU_HHS H.E. Minata Samate.
