WOW! Everyone needs to see this.
“Men and women who still courageously served for love of country that often didn’t love them back.” ~ President Biden
We have a President who passionately acknowledges the sacrifices and contributions made by people of color for this nation. We can’t go back to Trump!
10 months after #MahsaAmini died in police custody and protests erupted across Iran, the regime’s (anything but) morality police are patrolling the streets again to detain women not wearing the hijab. It’s an unacceptable assault on women’s lives and rights: https://t.co/wXz8n3ONRG

Sometime in the late 40’s, before either man was famous, Frank Sinatra appeared in a theater in New York.
After his show he went to Harlem to see the Will Maston Trio led by a young Sammy Davis Jr. Frank is blown away by Sammy’s talent and after the show he asks Sammy to come see his show.
A week goes by. No Sammy.
Sinatra goes back to Harlem to see the Will Maston Trio again and asks Sammy why he didn’t show. Sammy said he was there but they wouldn’t let him in.
Frank stormed back to the theater, tore up his contract in front of them, and never performed there again. That would be a common theme during the course of their friendship and careers.
When Sammy wasn’t allowed to play at the Copacabana, Frank wouldn’t play there either.
When Sammy was refused a Las Vegas hotel room, Frank said, “Give him my room!”
After Sammy’s car accident where he lost his eye, it was Sinatra who paid all his medical bills. After 5 decades and 40 years of performing together, a reporter once asked Frank why he was always so charitable to Sammy.
Frank responded in three words, “He’s my brother.”
BREAKING: South Carolina Democrats demand that the state's Republican Gov. Henry McMaster apologize for jaw-droppingly violent remarks made at a recent GOP convention.
Over the weekend, McMaster told an audience that he looks "forward to the day that democrats are so rare, we have to hunt them with dogs.”
The comment was clearly designed to evoke images of Republicans chasing and shooting Democrats dead — a horrifying suggestion during a time when political violence is on the rise. In the south, it's undeniable that his words could be also be construed as a call for lynchings.
Over and over again we see Republican voters taking their fetishized guns and carrying out violent, murderous acts after seeing some deranged conspiracy theory on Fox News or hearing some GOP politician spew hatred.
The Democratic Party in Anderson and Charleston counties have put out a petition on the DNC website calling on the governor to “apologize and retract this racially-tinged dog whistle.”
If he fails to apologize, Democrats want the South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division to “open an investigation into this threat and incitement of political violence.”
Retweet if you think that we should skip the apology and move right to the investigation!
George Santos lied about where he went to high school, where he went to college & about working on Wall Street. He lied about an animal charity. He lied to collect unemployment benefits. He lied about his marriage(s), how his mother died (and how many times). He lied about his grandmother surviving the Holocaust. He lied about having employees who died at Pulse nightclub. He lied about being a drag queen, a Broadway producer and a journalist in Brazil.
He lied to Congress. He lied to his donors & to the voters.
He even swindled a disabled veteran with a dying dog!!
He’s been indicted on seven counts of wire fraud, three counts of money laundering, one count of theft of public funds, and two counts of making materially false statements to the House of Representatives.
He’s a pathologically lying criminal conman.
And yet today, every single Republican in the House of Representatives voted to protect him from expulsion.
Because of course they did.
BREAKING: Yesterday multiple Republican lawmakers in Michigan voted to uphold a law that banned unmarried couples from living together.
Below State Senator Thomas Albert argues in favor of the law, claiming that it’s better for children to be in a household with married parents. Albert, and other Michigan Republicans also support laws that ban abortions at “all stages of development.”
So Albert not only wants to force mothers to have babies they may not be ready for, but he also wants to break up families with caring unmarried parents when they do choose to have babies out of wedlock.
Stop pretending that Republicans actually care about the kids. They care about painting Democrats as murderers for allowing women to have a choice in deciding to abort conscienceless bean-sized fetuses at 6-weeks for reasons that they have no clue about.
Always having feelings of closeness to others and maintaining a loving mind is the sole foundation for building everything we wish for. Focusing on small differences in outer appearances to divide and discriminate is nothing but ignorance.

@kateandmrt I struggled with this but ultimately decided that it was healthier to listen to my body, mind, and soul. I let go of streaks and work on long term health.
We’re social creatures, we depend on each other, which is why we need a sense of concern for others’ well-being. Compassion is what’s important and you don’t have to be religious to practise it. Practising compassion here and now—living a meaningful life—is what is most important
