Today we started the process of working with the amazing team members from @SpiritAirlines, a homegrown company made up of Floridians and many from @BrowardCounty. Thank you to @CareerSourceBD for hosting this event for outplacement services. If you’re affected, please see below.
After over 20 years of dedicated service to the City of Fort Lauderdale, our District 1 Commissioner, John Herbst, has announced his resignation. From his 16 years as City Auditor to his time on the Commission, John has been a steadfast voice for fiscal discipline and accountability.
As the only Republican on the commission, his departure leaves a significant gap in leadership. We are looking for a strong, principled candidate to step up for the November 2026 ballot. District 1 needs a leader who will continue the fight for transparency and the residents of Fort Lauderdale.
Is that leader you? Join the conversation below. 🇺🇸
Sadly, we saw this coming. I personally wrote letters of support, as well as an op-ed. They didn’t listen, and now we are left working to re-employ Floridians…and we will!
The future of Broward County is looking bright this November! ☀️
With the massive influx of new residents since 2020, redrawing these lines mid-decade is a common-sense move for Florida. Thanks to a recent Supreme Court win for Republicans, which sharply limits the use of race in redistricting, we are moving toward fairer representation and making it harder for civil rights plaintiffs to challenge future maps.
We’ve mapped out exactly how Broward’s representatives voted on the new congressional lines:
House Highlights:
Chip LaMarca (District 100): Only one in Broward to vote YES ✅
83 Total YES votes vs. 28 NO votes statewide.
Senate Highlights:
21 Total YES votes vs. 17 NO votes statewide.
Local Senators Osgood, Pizzo, Polsky, and Sharief all voted NO.
The RPOF is looking to flip 4 seats this year. Stay informed, know the votes, and make your voice count! 🗳️
As the Florida House approved the @GovRonDeSantis map with new congressional districts-- Rep. @AngieNixon grabbed a bullhorn and protested the passage on the floor.
"This is a violation of the constitution," Nixon shouted. Here's the clip:
@Susannah_Bryan there is zero parking over there on sunrise anyway it’s a disaster. That’s why everybody parks on the other side of the beach. We have one garage by the Ocean Prime and now that that’s been overtaken by the marina so half the parking spots are even available in that one.
