@Chicago_History Brickhouse every day and twice on Sunday and twice on every other day as well.
Harry, by the time he came to Cubs, was high on his own supply. Entertainer? Yes! Play by play guy? No thanks. They actually put him on radio! Just try following the game.
Brick: Cubs and Bears. Heyhey
@JVMonte2 Impossible question. So here's some random thoughts:
"While My Guitar Gently Weeps": It's good. Never really grabbed me.
Chop to a single disc? It's easier to construct a triple album. I can chop Bungalow Bill.
Revolution 9 is actually pretty much the soul of this creepy album.
@prog_1211 Used to be an automatic "skip." My favorite Beatles song changes hourly. Is Revolution 9 ever it? No.
BUT
I do, these days, actually find myself looking forward to it (I kid you not) at the tail end of the White Album.
@Chicago_History It's something you'd commonly find on any school brick wall on any school, anywhere. Now? Give me a million bucks to find one and I'd fail.
We'd call it "Against the Wall."
Others: "Swift" (much better)
@twistyshouty "Soily" closed out the sets for the Wings Over America tour. As such, it's the final track on the triple album. (It's also the B-side to the live single "Maybe I'm Amazed). Paul's never rocked harder outside of Helter Skelter.
Answer: Maybe I'm Amazed/Soily
Or...the whole album.
@cowboy_postbop The "hit" (Tumbling Dice) is one of my least favorite tracks on the album.
(For me, same with Steely Dan's "Can't Buy a Thrill" debut album. I prefer literally every other song on it over the two hits.)
@AstorAaron@subsix848 Perfect! Much of the appeal of "Exile" is it's time and place. Stones retreat to a basement in Keith's villa in the south of France to avoid potentially huge UK tax implications. Hot. Dank. Sex drugs alcohol. Members show up whenever to record whatever. The album reflects it all.
@musingmymind History nerd here. I read one of his books, don't ask me which one. This is early '90's. Internet, email in infancy. Had a question about something I read. Emailed him. He answered!
Would that play out today? Probably not.
@lesbianbeatle Can't do it. Bungalow Bill is my easiest target. (Yes, Revolution 9 stays. It's really the essence of this actually kind of creepy album.)
Make it a triple, I say: Hey Jude, Junk, Lady Madonna, Across the Universe, Hey Bulldog, Child of Nature, Not Guilty, Sour Milk Sea...etc.
@ChaseDaniel Here's three totally rando suggestions:
The Great Gatsby: short. Literally read almost the whole thing one rainy day
The Jack Reacher series: High literature? Hell no! Page turners? Well researched? Yup!
A Gentleman in Moscow: Best thing I've read in 24 months.
