@jlippincott The Japanese military tried to assassinate the Emperor twice after Hiroshima and Nagasaki. They were beaten. They were also determined to show they weren't. That was the danger.
@fartagaz It's a good way to show someone is to be feared, especially considering their ranks, so we don't need more than that. However, it's very nice to have and the hallway scene is awesome in multiple senses of the word.
@fartagaz In the OT, fear of him comes from how everyone reacts to him. Aside from two characters, everyone treats Vader with an appropriate amount of fear. Tarkin speaks to Vader more casually and Vader listens, and of course Motti smarts off to him and gets a partial force choking.
@endofanerajc I don't know how much this helps, but my wife usually does overalls + tank top only at home when she's going to garden or clean out the chicken coops. The long sleeve is definitely more modest.
Religious affiliation: Baptist Christian.
@clementinetown Progressives tend to be pro-Muslim because their worldview labels Muslims victims while Christians are oppressors. More atheists lately do seem to be less critical of Christianity or st least more accepting of its cultural position, but these aren't progressives.
@kirpiszz I know several women from when I lived in Shenzhen. Most of them got married since I was there. Only one is still married. My ex specifically was raped on a date and got pregnant from it. She was pressured into marriage, and is now divorced because he left less than a month later
@8biteric The problem with your scenario is that most of these live service games will cost far more than the good single player over time, even if the SP game has DLC.
@shevereshtus What this looks like to me is this legalese exists so that Jews can be assured they are staying within the bounds of God's commandments. Do I have that right?
@NerdiestNic I'd argue that there is a morally acceptable area for piracy when a piece of media isn't available on the primary market or you already own an official copy. "I pirate because I don't like this company" is stupid, however.
@ReAnimateHer_ Higurashi no Naku Koro ni does this really well. It starts off by developing the main group, then each arc focuses on its primary two or three players right up to the climax of the series. It's a great way to build up to the series' signature horror.
@LilyS2Bella I like how the wumaos in your comments keep trying to rile people up by calling them subservient to the US. All of them would gladly run to the slaughter if their totalitarian party told them to. Absolute subservience is in all of communist Chinese culture, and they like it.
@glidemode@Prolife_Sam If your psychosis is so serious that you are willing to plan out a murder of your own children and then carry it out, you should never be allowed the opportunity for the "medical system" to fail again.
@treetreet34543@nerion41@JingusFlorpus Correction: it wasn't a failure in Japan. Quite popular, actually. The Japanese just didn't care what ADV did with it.
@soupcanarchist How many of those men have hundreds of male supporters show up at their trials saying their wives were actually the problem? Not on Twitter. On actual streets.
@SanaELedene I remember a few prominent cases over my lifetime of women murdering their kids then blaming PPD. This was just before TikTok and the glamorization of mental illness, which has only made things much worse.
@learning_yohei Technically, either that old Grimm's Fairy Tales compilation or the Toei Puss 'n Boots movie. Now, for when I was aware of anime, there's one I forever remembered, and it remains one of the greats.
