I like Twitter because you have Oscar winning writers with 500 followers tweeting about their cat and aspiring writers in Florida with 50,000 followers charging for screenwriting lessons. The ultimate melting pot.
Very excited! The Paramount Writers Mentoring Program is open for submissions! We need an original sample and a spec sample, as well as a letter of interest. The deadline is May 1, 2024. Details: https://t.co/p4lquIG2gL
Hope you'll apply!
I was an assistant for many years, as I learned & became a better writer while economics and canceled shows halted staffing. Great assistants get more work than terrible ones (or terrible attitudes) & the right bosses will see ur talents over ur CV.
Writers sending in a “checking in” email like “hey happy national cheesecake day haha anyway while I have you I thought I’d check in since it’s been a year but no rush and actually I’ve decided to fake my own death so you don’t even need to respond haha have a great week!!!"
Obviously there was a lot of messy stuff going on with The Idol but it’s strange to frame an assistant getting promoted as a negative?? Like so often assistants write scenes and don’t get credited or promoted - this part is actually good!
