Today, Minister @Dr_Arakwiye officiated the launch of Rwanda’s first Automatic Upper-Air Station in @HuyeDistrict.
The station marks a major step forward in strengthening weather forecasting, climate monitoring, and Rwanda’s contribution to global meteorological observations.
It also reinforced the need for stronger regional collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and coordinated action to address existing policy and implementation gaps across the WPS–climate–environment nexus.
We were pleased to participate in the Regional Knowledge Exchange on the Nexus of #WPS, Climate Change, and Environment held in Uganda.
This important convening strengthened regional dialogue while advancing the meaningful participation of women in shaping sustainable solutions.
On this International Day for Biological Diversity, Minister @Dr_Arakwiye highlighted Rwanda’s commitment to restoring ecosystems while advancing economic development and community well-being, proving that local action can deliver global impact.

President @PaulKagame and the @FirstLadyRwanda lit the Flame of Remembrance. This flame, a symbol of hope and resilience, will burn brightly for 100 days, mirroring the length of the Genocide against the Tutsi. It serves as a beacon of remembrance, inspiring us to honour the past, cherish the present, and build a future rooted in unity and peace. #Kwibuka32
This #IWD2026, Kigali came together for an uplifting #CarFreeDay filled with energy and solidarity.
This year’s national theme reminds us: "Umugore ni Uw’Agaciro - Empowered Women, Stronger Nation."
When women & girls are equipped and supported to rise, #Rwanda rises with them.
“#RuralWomen are the backbone of #agriculture. Yet, if agriculture were a race, they’d run twice as far, often barefoot, but still pass the baton with a smile. It’s time we gave them better shoes and the head start they deserve," inspired @RasDagmawi, @IFAD Rwanda & Burundi Rep.

With the rise of AI, new forms of digital violence are emerging; deepfakes, image manipulation, voice cloning and online impersonation.
Technology should protect, not harm. We need ethics, safeguards & accountability.

The conference aims to close the research-to-policy gap by turning gender climate evidence into actionable solutions. It provides a platform to synthesize findings, identify policy entry points & strengthen collaboration for gender-responsive climate action.
RCCDN is participating in a 2-day Gender & Climate Change Conference organized by @MoE_Rwanda, @giz_rwanda, @WwccnOrg, @GGGI_Rwanda ande @KvinnaKvinnaINT. The event gathers gender advocates, climate researchers, policymakers & partners to advance gender-responsive climate action.
🌍☘️Elevating Evidence into Action: Gender-Responsive Climate Policy Dialogue in Rwanda
Excited to share that we are part of the on-going 2nd Rwanda Conference on Gender and Climate Change (RCGCC 2025) on November 26–27 in Kigali, under the theme:
“Elevating Evidence into Action: A Gender-Responsive Climate Policy Dialogue.”
On the first day, @GGGI_Rwanda was honored to lead Thematic Session A on “Mainstreaming Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) in NDC 3.0”, presented by @AntoNiyitegeka
The session highlighted:
🔹 Why GESI matters: Climate shocks are not gender-neutral, and inclusion essential for resilience.
🔹 The GESI Index: A new tool to measure and track integration of gender and social inclusion in climate policies, simplifying complex data into actionable insights.
🔹 AI-powered GESI Simulation: Demonstrated how aligning NDC 3.0 with Vision 2050 can guide evidence-based planning and decision-making.
💡 Key Recommendations from this session:
- Strengthen gender-disaggregated data systems
- Institutionalize inclusive practices like Gender Equality Seals and workplace-based childcare
- Scale up cross-sector partnerships for GESI integration
- Leverage AI-driven tools for smarter and fairer climate planning
👏 Huge thanks to the @EnvironmentRw, @WwccnOrg, @KvinnaKvinnaINT, @giz_rwanda, and all partners for making this dialogue impactful. Together, we’re building a greener, fairer future for Rwanda and beyond.
