@clhubes It definitely gets more complex w/ more kids, but I think the core of the issue is “feed your kids however works best for your family” Anytime people feel pressure to conform to “what all the other parents are doing”, it’s problematic. Fed is best for infants and toddlers alike.
@clhubes I think it’s meant to take the pressure off of parents who feel like they have to make separate meals for themselves & their kids, sometimes separate meals for each kiddo if they have multiples. But the plot got lost and it turned into something prescriptive instead of permissive
@jnicolemorgan Same. I can French braid other folks’ hair all day long, but any time I attempt my own it looks truly terrible. I hope you master it and have a great time learning!
@Jenna_DeWitt I definitely traveled in more charismatic circles, we had 2 hour sermons, but the other 3 hours were singing/yelling/praying loudly one on one, etc 😬. You haven’t lived until you’ve had a total stranger yell prayers in your face! They just made everyone miserable 🤣
@Jenna_DeWitt I literally once had a Bible school teacher tell me that if your morning devotional was less than 2 hours long, you were failing 🤦🏻♀️. You’re absolutely right, no one is ever good enough or doing enough.
@Jenna_DeWitt that our desire to recharge alone is forsaking fellowship, that we are inherently failures at Christianity because we are not loud evangelists. And I think some of us have just given into that bitterness and turned everything back around against extroverts. Which is just as wrong
@piper4missouri I don’t know If you’re familiar with @_careportal , but they do that exact work - matching faith communities with the needs of children and families in their areas.
