The Owner tried saving the business by reaching out to “The State Department and our Representatives in Washington DC — We’ve basically gotten nowhere”

“The mill has about 90 growers. It's a coop, and I'm one of the growers. I'm Tudor Uhlhorn. I'm chairman of the board of Rio Grande Valley Sugar Growers. We're have been the only sugarcane mills since 1974.

This was our 50 first season that we just completed, which was will be our last. Normally, this warehouse would still be full of sugar, but as you can see, it's completely empty, and we've shipped all the sugar. That's the last of the Rio Grande Valley sugar that there will be. If Mexico had delivered the water like they're supposed to, we wouldn't be standing here today. I'd be raising sugarcane, and the mill would be operating normally.

We've done everything we could working with the International Boundary and Water Commission and the State Department and our representatives in Washington DC to try to push this issue, and we've basically gotten nowhere.

In Memoriam: On April 7th, Joyce Whaley, Patricia Nibbe, and Nettie Spencer, were working at a Pilot truck stop when a total stranger, Idris Abdus-Salaam went on a rampage & attacked them.

Abdus-Salaam burst into the business, intent on kiIIing, followed Joyce into a restroom and stabbed her 71 times. He then chased Denise into the kitchen and stabbed her and Nettie over 100X.

A customer in the parking lot tried to call 911, but Idris pulled her from her car and began stabbing her.
Although she survived, the other three victims did not.

A bystander attempted to stop Idris by hitting him twice with a vehicle, but Idris continued to get up and seek more victims. In total, the 4 women were stabbed over 200X.

He was finally subdued when the police arrived. The district attorney stated that Abdus-Salaam chose his victims randomly because he was "angry at all white people in general." His last text message to his girlfriend revealed his desire to "kiII white people and go to heaven."
