IFRC, USG National Society Development and Operations Coordination (NSDOC) My comments are of my personal opinion not IFRC points of view

People on the move face different challenges in countries of origin, transit and destination.
The IFRC’s Migration and Displacement Platform brings together the strength of 191 National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies to build resilience, strengthen protection and advance long-term solutions that uphold people’s dignity.
In this video, part of a series on migration, I explain how the platform supports a coordinated, locally led response across every stage of the migration journey.

This IFRC-DREF allocation was made to support the Ethiopian Red Cross Society in reaching 50,000 people affected by the severe drought experienced across the country.

This response provides lifesaving assistance in the form of cash, health care, safe water and sanitation to families experiencing critical levels of food insecurity.

Thank you to all IFRC-DREF donors!

Together in Maputo, we reaffirmed the seven Principles guiding our service to the people we serve in Mozambique, Angola and beyond. We close #FundamentalPrinciplesWeek with Universality: all National Societies have equal status and a shared duty to help one another.

[Naemi Heita @NaemiHeita]

As we mark the #FundamentalPrinciples Week, I reflect on the principle that inspires me most: #Humanity.

For me, Humanity is rooted in Ubuntu: “I am because we are.” When we lift each other up, we build stronger, more resilient communities where everyone belongs.
#Ubuntu

[IFRC Africa @IFRCAfrica]

Then and now: the same Red Cross Red Crescent, the same commitment.

61 years on, the Fundamental Principles are still the difference between life and death for millions.

[Naemi Heita @NaemiHeita]

What #FundamentalPrinciple inspires you most? For Nancy, it's #Universality.

"Wherever we are, we are united by one purpose: humanity."

Because beyond borders, cultures & crises, our shared commitment to #humanity connects us all and drives us to support those who need us most.

[IFRC Africa @IFRCAfrica]

“The Fundamental Principles have played a critical role in how we engage with communities.”

Thiaba Fame, our Senior Advisor for Community Engagement and Accountability, shares how the Fundamental Principles continue to guide our work, ensuring that community feedback helps shape decisions throughout our response efforts.

.simple drawing spoke volumes.
children medically evacuated from Gaza for treatment in @_JNRCS hospital were asked what makes them feel safe and supported, every child drew the Red Crescent.
powerful reminder Our Fundamental Principles are not just values but hope, trust, kindness

[IFRC @ifrc]

Our Fundamental Principles are more than words; they guide every action we take.

In Kebbi, Nigeria, our principle of Humanity drives @ifrc to support @nrcs_ng in delivering lifesaving assistance to people displaced by conflict, restoring hope and dignity when they need it most.

[IFRC Africa @IFRCAfrica]

“Our Fundamental Principles are not simply words displayed on our walls. They are our compass.”

@CharlesBusinge1, our Regional Director, reflects on how the Fundamental Principles continue to guide humanitarian action and enable us to reach those who need assistance most.

[John Roche @ja_roche]

Neutrality is what allows us to work alongside everyone and reach everyone. For Jesper Fridolf, Swedish Red Cross Country Representative in Mozambique, it means staying focused on humanitarian needs and earning community trust, so we can reach the people who need us most.

[IFRC Africa @IFRCAfrica]

From Kebbi, Nigeria, to communities across Africa, the Fundamental Principles have guided 61 years of humanitarian action, helping us reach people with support, dignity and hope when and where it is needed most.

Across borders. Across crises. Across decades.

The Fundamental Principles have guided our humanitarian action wherever help is needed most.

We asked a few colleagues which Principles resonate most with their work👇🏾

Fundamental Principles come to life through dialogue and reflection.

This week, @IFRC joined the Iraqi Red Crescent Society @iraqircs and Movement partners to reflect on how our Principles guide humanitarian action in Iraq. @IFRC_MENA

An air bridge from Benghazi is bringing essential supplies to Ghat to support families affected by the floods and heavy rains.

The new supplies will replenish the stocks of the @LibyaRC Ghat Branch and help teams continue delivering assistance to affected communities and responding to their humanitarian needs.

This #FundamentalPrinciplesWeek, I am sharing what our principles mean to the people who live them every day.For Benard Muradya, our Senior PMER Officer for @IFRC Maputo delegation, humanity is in every task, big or small, that helps reduce suffering in the communities we serve.

[John Roche @ja_roche]

Impartiality is simple, and that's what makes it powerful.
For Sheila Nhandime, Administration Officer at our Maputo delegation, it means treating everyone equally, without choosing sides. It's how we keep the trust of every community we serve.
