$BTC to $ETH dominated THORChain's Q2 volume at over $1B, dwarfing every other route combined. $BTC to $USDT came second at roughly $200M, with $BTC to $USDC, $ETH to $USDT, and $BCH to $ETH rounding out the top five.
Four out of five involve $BTC. THORChain is the only place native Bitcoin moves freely across chains, the way Satoshi would have wanted it to.
The question is whether anything can dethrone $BTC to $ETH as the dominant route. $XMR is coming. If Monero's community brings the same kind of organic demand that Bitcoin holders have, that top five could look very different by Q4.

Not to get too excited… but we could be less than 24 hours away from THORChain v3.20. 👀
Just pause and think about that for a second.
A few months ago, many were writing THORChain off.
Today, we’re talking about another major release.
From surviving exploits…
To recovering stronger…
To continuously shipping. ⚒️
That’s what real builders do.
The market will eventually notice what consistent execution looks like.
3.20 is almost here. 🟢
Who’s ready? 🚀🔥

Self-custody shouldn’t mean one single point of failure.
ASGARDEX gives you options:
• Keystore
• @vultisig MPC
• @Ledger
Trade natively on @THORChain@Maya_Protocol@Chainflip — your keys, your way.

Ten weeks before the entropy bug shipped NVK winked at the idea of a retirement attack and suggested dice rolls. His CTO wrote the bug under a pseudonym. Two people warned them. The answer was: "if something was wrong, we'd already know about it by now." https://t.co/bmjSIgbJQn
~1k+ BTC reportedly drained from COLDCARD wallets after a seed-RNG bug (Galaxy Research mapped ~1,083 BTC from 1,196 addresses; later waves higher).
Quick note on ASGARDEX Desktop BIP39 generation + safer options for anyone rotating keys.
For builders using @xchainjs: @xchainjs/xchain-crypto generates BIP39 via platform CSPRNG only — 128-bit (12 words) or 256-bit (24 words) for single-sig phrase strength.
Thinking of everyone impacted by the Coldcard hack
Core lesson for self-custody: single-sig security ≈ quality of seed entropy. Firmware updates don’t repair a seed that was already generated weak.
Cold storage protects keys after generation. It does not fix a seed born with too few bits of randomness.
Defense-in-depth still matters: strong BIP39 passphrase, multisig, dice-augmented entropy where available.
This week's Chainflip highlights:
- TRON volume hit 11.58M (+85% WoW)
- TRON swaps live in @THORSwap, @asgardex, @InstaSwap_io
- FLIP burn crossed 12,000,000 all-time
- MAB reached 198K FLIP for the first time in months
Trading is live again on THORChain.
After more than a month offline, the network is fully back. Signing, churning, secured and trade assets, LP actions, and swaps are all up and running. The world's leading Bitcoin DEX is open for business once again.
This recovery was never about speed, it was about doing it right. Every vault verified, every keyshare checked, every step taken with security and stability as the only priority. That patience paid off, and the network came back stronger than before.
None of this happens without the people behind it. Huge thanks to the node operators who stayed online through every vote and upgrade, the devs who worked relentlessly to ship the fixes, the Maya Protocol team for keeping the lights on, and a community that didn't flinch once.
The pipeline's stacked. $XMR is coming, with native Monero swaps already working end to end in testing and a live launch on the horizon. $ZEC follows close behind. Dynamic fees, and deeper liquidity are all on the way.
THORChain got hit, held the line, and kept shipping. Same chain, same ethos, same mission.
Welcome back, Chads. Let's trade.⚡️
I BELIEVE Dynosauur will return the stolen @THORChain funds and go down as one of the most legendary whitehats in crypto history. ⚔️
The Verus Bridge exploiter just returned 4,052 $ETH ($8.5M) from the $11.58M exploit and kept 25% (~1,350 ETH / $2.8M) as bounty.
That changed the entire narrative overnight.
And honestly, after exposing such a critical weakness in one of the hardest cryptography and cross-chain systems ever built, even a 20-30% bounty feels fair to me.
The point has already been made.
The best minds in cryptography are now reviewing GG20, vault infrastructure, DKLS upgrades and every possible security path forward. THORChain will evolve and become even stronger from this.
Now there is a chance to turn this into a legendary moment for decentralized infrastructure instead of just another exploit story. 🍷
Return the funds.
Take the bounty.
Become the REAL Thorchad that helped make permissionless finance stronger for all the anons around the world.
