🔹 The biggest quantum risk to crypto begins when a transaction reveals a wallet’s public key, potentially allowing future quantum computers to crack private keys.
XRPL stands out because around 300,000 accounts holding 2.4B XRP have never made a transaction, meaning their public keys remain hidden and protected from this specific threat. Only 2 dormant whale accounts holding 21M XRP are exposed.
By comparison, reports estimate 35% of Bitcoin’s circulating supply could face similar exposure. Analysts from Google, Grayscale, and ongoing AlphaNet tests suggest XRPL is already among the few networks preparing for a post-quantum future.
However, being ahead doesn’t mean fully quantum safe yet. XRPL mainnet still uses legacy encryption, and full migration to quantum-resistant security is still ahead.
The race is on and for now, XRP Ledger appears to be leading.
