**STILL WAITING** The #589er's talk a big game. Put your money where your mouth is. 5,000 #XRP bet that 1 XRP is less than $589.00 on Dec 31st. We can use an Augur smart contract. Let's see how confident you really are... #xrpthestandard#Ripple#xrparmy#xrpcommunity#crypto
@JoelKatz Some seem to think there is the ledger, and a hidden ledger, (One retail, one institutional) that will eventually be merged together. This to my understanding seems ridiculous as the protocol rules state one state is valid, and itโs immutable.
@XRP_Mahn1 You can't really merge the ledgers, but you can allow people on one side to move an asset to the other side. It's much like the way @Bitstamp has a private ledger with USD on it (their exchange) but also gateways USD on the XRP Ledger.
@XRP_Mahn1 ... to the public ledger. For example, you could have an asset issued on both ledgers that's bridged by the validators of the private ledger who multisign txns for the public ledger. It's actually a cool use case to cut txn fees and scale.
@XRP_Mahn1 It's hard to imagine what such a merger would look like. It would have to follow the rules of the public ledger. It's kind of funny, I was actually thinking just today about how cool it would be if you could run the XRPL software in a private ledger mode and later bridge ...
@JoelKatz Ha that is weird you were just thinking about that. Just to be clear for someone I was having a discussion/dispute with there is only one XRP ledger according to the protocol correct?
