Retweeting Asha interview posts with Halo and Gears gifs is definitely a choice, when the topic of exclusives is discussed.
I know we have seen announced titles get pulled from XBOX prior to launch like Stellar Blade, so the question is will the company with mascots as brutal and unforgiving as the ones you are posting, have the same conviction in fighting for platform relevancy ๐ค
We all know what Sony would do...
It's anti consumer, but it's also smart business.
In the streaming world, all companies are kumbaya. Apple makes an Apple TV streaming box, but they also make an app for competing hardware. Amazon has a streaming service but it supports apps for all major competitors.
In that world, it would be stupid to limit your audience since your entire business model is collecting subscription fees.
Consoles don't make money from the hardware, but they do make money from their software and storefronts. You can hate exclusivity as a consumer, but businesses need differentiators to attract customers.
If Sony games were everywhere, Xbox considering exclusivity would be a "slimy platform thing", but that's not the case. Having one system that plays all of its competitor's games, plus it's own exclusives puts them in a position to be the defacto platform. The least "consumer friendly" option would become the best selling choice.
If those are the terms of engagement, then Xbox has one of two options. They either abandon their platform ambitions or they play by the rules set by the market leader.
Also, keep in mind that even if XBOX went 100% exclusive, it would still be the most consumer friendly option. It would be available on Xbox hardware, PC hardware (even if Steam was cut out), and via mobile apps. The only platform that would not have games on would be PlayStation.
@K__Med@GamingSinceNES I have zero issue with the female protagonist, and it could be good.... I'm just worried about the sentient cube and ribbons ๐ซฃ
