We are rewriting Expo Modules from scratch. Same concepts you already know, but with a simpler API and much better performance.
A preview ships with SDK 58 soon. Here is where Android stands today ⬇️
Today we’re introducing a new 3.8 Flash model, our 3rd Flash release in just 6 wks.
It delivers significant leaps from 3.7 Flash across software engineering, agentic tasks, and multi-step reasoning. On DeepSWE v1.1, it outperforms most larger frontier models in autonomously solving complex engineering problems end to end, at a fraction of the cost.

As we prepare to release Astra, we’re focused on making increasingly capable AI safe and broadly accessible.
Astra represents a significant advance in cybersecurity capability, reaching the Critical threshold under our Preparedness Framework.
We're previewing how we evaluated the model, how its safeguards have advanced alongside its capabilities, and what we'll continue to learn and improve.

Dude WTF? When the F did @SpaceXAI release this feature? In voice conversation mode, you can share your screen with the voice model, and it can see everything you're doing in the browser/talk you through anything you want? How did I miss this? This is amazing. It works so well.
When Viking became a shareholder in Callstack, I knew we were setting out to deliver an ambitious plan. I wanted to build Callstack into a globally significant technology company. Viking believed in what we had already built and in how far we could go.
Today is the next chapter of that plan! 💪
@mrousavy and I have been friends for years, and we have talked about working together for a long time. At one point, we even promised each other that we would start a venture together one day. Today, with Margelo joining Callstack, we finally get to build together.
The timing feels right. AI is changing how software gets built. Teams can produce more, faster, but architecture, performance, validation and safe releases remain difficult to get right.
Those are the problems both teams have spent years solving.
Margelo is a high-end engineering company that has built some of the strongest performance technology in React Native. Together, Nitro Modules, VisionCamera and react-native-mmkv have recorded more than 142 million npm downloads combined.
Callstack has spent a decade helping large organizations adopt and scale React Native while contributing to the framework and open-source ecosystem.
Together, we are bringing Margelo's performance-first technologies and Callstack's enterprise delivery experience to the same clients. We will continue developing Margelo's open-source libraries while expanding what we can offer enterprises building, scaling and operating high-performance cross-platform products.
Marc and the @margelo_com team: welcome!
Time to build the next chapter! 💪
React Native 1.0 is still on the horizon
0.87 shipped Strict TypeScript API by default
Now it seems the team is working toward a stricter C++ public API
Many C++ API headers are getting a 3-tier guard system to prevent misuse
For now, will be opt-in with RN_STRICT_API
We’re sorry to see that OpenAI put out a note saying they plan to block Cursor users from accessing OpenAI models in three months.
OpenAI models serve about 5% of Cursor user traffic, and we’re speaking with the OpenAI team to resolve this.
Cursor was one of the very first users of OpenAI, we’ve worked closely with their team for years, and we’ve trusted their platform to be neutral infrastructure for our business.
We’re ending our partnership with Cursor following its acquisition by SpaceX. Under our proposal, Cursor’s direct access to our models would end on November 12.
We know that the people most affected by this decision are the developers who rely on OpenAI models in Cursor. We care about their experience in this transition and we’re ready to go above and beyond to support them.

BREAKING: Grok Bot now has live access to real-time stock quotes and options chains.
You can pull prices, scan option chains, and even check the Greeks of a particular options contract.
Here's how to connect the (free) API step by step:
