I will continue to use my experience in other ways & I’m hoping that one day I’ll have that passion again, to create audio. But for now, I’m looking forward to learning something brand new.
So over the past year, since I graduated. I have struggled to make the audio thing work. I made the decision to take a break from my masters but I have also decided on a career change. I’ve had no motivation to create audio or find work within the industry. (Cont)
But for those that know me, will know I have a strong passion for Youth Work. As of right now, I have moved away from the audio industry & I am now training to be an LGBTQ+ Youth Worker. It’s been such an amazing experience so far & I’m excited to see what happens next.
There are other issues which have added to this decision but I'm hoping it's the right one. I'm now back to the drawing board, trying to find work and build up my portfolio. My studies will be there when I'm ready.
I've sadly had to make the decision to interrupt my masters. Due to personal and financial issues, recent job didn't go as planned and I need to make sure I'm financially stable enough to finish my studies.
I’ve been spending a lot of time learning how to use @unity as a way to combine my love of sound design & games. I’ve been making a lot of progress on learning how to code & use audio within the software. (Twitter made me cut the end off the video)
The audio was created by me for a Haunted House project at University. Unity has given me the space to be visually creative & I’m really excited to continue this project 🙌😊
I have finally found my love of storytelling again and I'm currently working on a new audio piece. I'm really proud of it so far and I can't wait to share it with you all. I'm glad I took a break but I can't wait to start creating again!
Given that I’m struggling to find part time work alongside my studies, I can’t decide whether going back to uni was a good or bad decision… maybe a bit of both 🤣😅
I have a strong passion for anything audio. But my main passion is talking to people, I love socialising & working with others. But the barrier I have with selling myself feels so tall & having people put me down because of my adhd, does really take a toll on my confidence.
One thing I’ve realised as I’m progressing into the industry, is it’s so hard to find work & progress when I have no idea what I’m doing… or how to explain my skill set & myself as a person. Not sure if this is the anxiety or the struggle to explain anything due to my adhd -
& short term memory which comes with it. I have this anxious feeling as I hate making myself look like I know nothing.
If anyone has any advice that they can share with a struggling student or tips on how to ease the anxiety, I will love you forever. 😅
