International crude prices have gone through the roof in the last 1 month from around 70 dollars/barrel to around 122 dollars/barrel. Consequently, petrol and diesel prices for consumers have gone up all over the world. Prices have increased by around 30%-50% in South East Asian countries, 30% in North American countries, 20% in Europe and 50% in African countries.

The Modi Government had two choices- either increase prices drastically for citizens of Bharat as all other nations have done or bear the brunt on its finances so that Indian citizen is insulated from international volatility.

Hon’ble Prime Minister @narendramodi Ji, in keeping with his Government’s commitment of last 4 years since the conflict in Russia-Ukraine started, decided to take a hit on its own finances again to safeguard the Indian citizen.

Government has taken a huge hit on it taxation revenues to ensure very high losses of oil companies (approximately 24 Rs/litre for petrol and 30 Rs/litre for diesel) at this time of sky high international prices are reduced. At the same time, export tax has been levied as international prices of petrol and diesel have skyrocketed and any refinery exporting to foreign nations will have to pay export tax. My gratitude to Hon’ble PM Narendra Modi Ji and Hon’ble FM @nsitharaman Ji for this very timely, bold and visionary decision!

Deeply anguished by the tragic loss of two officers of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited in the unfortunate incident at the CBG Plant in Budaun, Uttar Pradesh.

This brutal act of violence deserves the strongest condemnation. The nation has lost two committed professionals who served with dedication and courage.

My heartfelt condolences to the families of Shri Sudhir Gupta and Shri Harshit Mishra. Their service and commitment will always be remembered. We stand firmly with their families and the entire HPCL fraternity in this moment of grief.

I have directed the concerned officials and requested the State Government of UP to ensure swift and strict action against those responsible. The Government of India stands firmly with the families of the departed officers and the HPCL fraternity during this difficult time.

They either make the payment online or leave the money along with the empty cylinders if they know they wouldn’t be home to personally take the delivery. To ensure uninterrupted energy supply to every kitchen, the trusted and hardworking staff of @HPCL delivers filled cylinders after checking for correct weight and leakage. लोग घर पे हों या ना हों, गैस का सिलेंडर मिल जाएगा! What makes this indigenous system unique is that it is based on PM Sh @narendramodi Ji’s mantra of साफ़ नियत, सही विकास - there have been no reported thefts of these cylinders.
Kudos to the people of the villages of Sindhudurg and to the foot soldiers of India’s energy sector for their exemplary effort.
