@bgander1118 She along with other health professionals, such as Dr. Veronica Gillispie, work tirelessly to reduce maternal mortality rates. @XUHealthEquity
@Criddle33 I agree. Policies should be created to help mitigate these disadvantages in ethnic communities. Health equity may be on the rise, but it’s still so many inequities to diminish. @XUHealthEquity
@bgander1118 I believe that income contributes to the decline in birth rate. As inflation continues, it becomes harder and harder to take care of a child @XUHealthEquity
@GreshamAsia@XUHealthEquity This is absolutely true! Health literacy should be an education requirement in schools. Also, education regard health literacy should be given out at health fairs. It will provide people with a better advocacy foundation.
@GreshamAsia@XUHealthEquity Louisiana is an open carry state and new laws are being developed that could make gun carrying even more dangerous. Government officials need to open their eyes and see the detriment that could be ahead if they don’t fix the laws/policies regarding gun use.
@GreshamAsia@XUHealthEquity Not only that, the population that the drug is being tested on, needs to be representative of the population of distribution. Therefore, they should market the drug efficiently to all races.
@GreshamAsia@XUHealthEquity This is absolutely true. If we are better prepared than we were for the COVID-19 pandemic, there is a chance that we would not have to shut the nation down, and enforce a stay at home order again.
@NeshiaS23@XUHealthEquity Healthcare systems are businesses, therefore they build in areas where there’s a larger population, in turn, neglecting the smaller area citizens. Government officials need to make it a priority to establishing healthcare systems in ALL areas, including small ones.
@NeshiaS23@XUHealthEquity This is why empathy and cultural competence is of utmost importance in the healthcare system. It could ultimately save a life
@NeshiaS23@XUHealthEquity This is true but it is a possibility that the requirements of SNAP benefits rule those households out. SNAP requirements should be re-evaluated and not set for all but case by case basis.
@JDavisMPH@XUHealthEquity This is why it is important to make healthcare facilities, such as clinics and urgent cares, available in areas that do not currently have them.
@JDavisMPH@XUHealthEquity They also have higher maternal mortality rates than their Caucasian counterparts. It is an unfortunate fact that needs to be addressed.
@janellealana_@XUHealthEquity This process has a heavy influence in red lining. It has been occurring for decades within the United States and continues to occur to this day.
@janellealana_@XUHealthEquity This is absolutely correct. This is why I advocate for ethnic communities to participate in research studies (and know their rights regarding them also) because results can be made standard for everyone when it wasn’t not tested on a truly representative population.
