@Burnershiro28@ArnoldArvidsson@Stealth40k Square Enix owns Xenogears. 100% of it. They are still actively using the trademark. Though just for merch. Bandai does not really use Saga for anything. So I could imagine they could be willing to trade the rights.
@GrandxSummon@clearrivergames@TAITO Bahamut Lagoon was never officialy localized outside japan. Terranigma and these Lufia Games seem to be rather simple ports with minimal time and budget investment. Sadly I don't think this will happen.
@AmKi73115@Tech_and_Crypto Lass doch das erklären. Der Typ ist entweder ein Ragebaiter oder so dermaßen dumm, dass auch keine Erklärung mehr was bringt.
@Ndorphinmachine@IndependnTexan@BRAP_Podcast Yes. Given how "erratic" Xbox is operating as of late I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to keep it exclusive. Also this would be a incentive for their next console. Especially as Microsoft is struggling on the japanese market.
@BRAP_Podcast@Ndorphinmachine Your arguments are correct. However there is no certainty that it will be on PS. By your logic Gears and Clockwork would also be on PS. Microsoft could deceide, that it's more benefical for their plattform if it is exlusive. And I don't think Kojima has so many other options left
@kalin_t@JNavok If AI is identifiable it can't be that good. Which will often lead to worse products. And I can totaly understand if players don't want that. Now if AI is used in a "good" way it could be benefical. But most studios will use it solely as a way to cut cost.
@EcoEclipse@JuunTV Probably not. To me it doesn't matter much how big the download is. Of course it would be best if the product is finished by release and there is no need for any additional download at all. But let's be honest. What big game nowadays releases in flawless condition...
@JustSay54618512@FFPeasants I agree. All those minigames where just too much while being mostly irrelevant for the main plot and a lot of them were just not fun to play. Still have nightmares from the animal soccer and Chocobo gliding. Still I like the remakes a lot. They are not flawless. But no game is.
@Seventk6@DanFriedman81 Yes. And as soon as one of those studios is successfull this situation will just repeat. Where there is a lot of money to be earned, the people who just care for that and not for the product will inevitably follow. It's just sad.
@Stealth40k Well, they better try hard to make their "Gen AI" look like it's not AI because most of them will probably have a really bad time if they overdo it. Surely there are people which accept AI to some degree but not if the product gets worse through it.
@JNavok According to the german games industry association only 42% of console games sold in 2025 were digital. So I would guess "physical" does still matter in countries outside the US.
@RFDZI Nah. As much as I would like a big fleshed out remake I don't see it. Square won't invest a massive amount of money in the IP. I think their main AAA production Teams are permanently focused on FF, DQ and KH. Maybe some H2D2 thing or a port with some QoL adjustments.
@BRAP_Podcast There is no short term impact. The errors they made will show when they want to sell their $1000 PS6. How many million parents will buy their kids that console? How many of the coregamer fraction will switch to Xbox/Nintendo/PC? Sony will need REAL GOOD incentives for thconsole.
@JCeacc@JammerJonesTV@JNavok This is true. And PS will have a hard cut. I'm not a consumer. I'm a customer. And if the product they are offering does not please me, I will buy somewhere else. And instead of buying a $1000+ konsole with a locked ecosystem i will switch to PC, where this does not matter.
@JCeacc@JammerJonesTV@JNavok That argument arises again and again... PC players didn't "deceide". They where forced to. There was no option. At least you can still deceide from which store you buy on PC or get a key somewhere. That is not possible on console.
