It still absolutely kills me that neural network simulator-emulators can do this kind of thing. Even with all the sci fi I have seen and read in my lifetime and with two science degrees and a PhD in philosophy specialising in the philosophy of information, I still did not expect anything like this to appear in the world during my lifetime. It's absolutely astonishing. It's amazing that one can tell it to deliver up a Cadillac with a gold and paisley paint job and get a photorealistic result that is not distinguishable from reality in about five seconds flat. Clarkean technomagic. It's a wonderful and terrifying demonstration of what technology can do. Humans can not do mental imagery like this in their central executive. It's like comparing the way an f-16 or the space shuttle flies to the way an eagle flies.
