الإفراج عن سجين هندي في ولاية بنسلفانيا الأمريكية بعد 43 عام قضاها بين القضبان لجريمة قتل لم يقترفها.

السجين "فيدام" مولود في الهند وسافر والداه للولايات المتحدة وهو رضيع عمره 9 أشهر فكبر وتعلم في ولاية بنسلفانيا.

عام 1982 وخلال دراسة فيدام في المرحلة الجامعية حدثت جريمة قتل لأحد زملائه في الجامعة فاتهموه بهذه الجريمة.

قبضت عليه قوات الأمن ووجهوا له التُهم وحكم القاضي عليه بالسجن مدى الحياة.

طوال 4 عقود كان "فيدام" يقول بأنه بريء رغم محاولاتهم الضغط عليه لإقناعه بالاعتراف حتى يخففوا عليه مدة السجن لكنه أصر على براءته لذلك لم يُخفف الحكم أبداً.

مؤخراً اكتشفوا أن الأدلة لم تكن كافية لتوجيه الاتهامات ففتحوا ملف القضية من جديد وحكم القاضي ببراءته الكاملة وأصبح فيدام حرًا طليقاً لأول مرة منذ 43 عام.

لحظة خروجه من السجن قامت قوات الأمن التابعة لدائرة الهجرة (ICE) بمداهمة فيدام وقبضوا عليه بتهمة مخالفة قواعد الإقامة في الولايات المتحدة تمهيدًا لترحيله إلى الهند.

القصة لم تنتهي فصولها فهو لا يزال في التوقيف وقضيته معلقة قانونياً حتى تنتهي دائرة الهجرة من إصدار قرار ترحيله إلى الهند.

يقول فيدام: لا أعرف أحداً في الهند، دخلت السجن بعمر 21، اليوم عمري 64، معظم حياتي في السجن، جميع أصدقائي عرفتهم في السجن، لا أعرف شيء سوى السجن والحياة في السجن.

I strongly condemn the unlawful arrest of Samsam Omar Ali and Habibi Abdi Ali, as well as the growing pattern of abuse the government continues to inflict upon the people of Mogadishu, particularly the poor and the displaced.

Samsam is a mother who has already endured unimaginable pain: her parents and husband were murdered by a terrorist group. Yet, instead of receiving the protection and support she deserves, the very government she trusted displaced her from her home and imprisoned her simply for demanding her rights.

No one should be forced to choose between ruthless terrorists and an oppressive government. It is precisely this injustice and despair that allow extremism to thrive.

I call for the immediate release of Samsam Omar Ali and Habibi Abdi Ali, and for their freedom and dignity to be fully restored. To be clear, and for the avoidance of doubt, I am in favor of banning Israeli football teams from international competitions, given we banned Russia and what Israel has done in Gaza is much worse than what Russia’s done in Ukraine.

The reason I’m arguing specifically about Maccabi fans right now is because they’re clearly hooligans, separate to any Israel issue, and the West Midlands police were clearly acting on intel and on what happened in Amsterdam and it obviously wasn’t antisemitism. The British political and media class have been gaslighting us.
