طاقتور بوڑھے مرد اور عورتیں جو اقتدار میں ہیں، ان کے لیے یہ ختم ہو چکا ہے۔ نوجوان نسل کو آپ جو کچھ بیچنے کی کوشش کر رہے ہیں وہ کچھ بھی نہیں خرید رہی۔ آپ سکولوں اور کالجوں میں جتنے بھی لیکچر اور سیمینارز کا اہتمام کر لیں، patriotism کو فروغ دینے کی کوشش کر لیں، یہ کام نہیں کر رہا۔ patriotism فطری طور پر آتا ہے جب برابر مواقع ہوں، مضبوط انفراسٹرکچر ہو اور موثر نظام موجود ہو۔ جب آپ اپنے لوگوں کو بنیادی ضروریات فراہم کریں اور ان کے حقوق یقینی بنائیں تو آپ کو سکولوں کالجوں میں جا کر طلبہ کو یہ نہیں بتانا پڑے گا کہ وہ اپنے ملک سے محبت کریں، وہ ویسے بھی کریں گے۔
نوجوان ذہن، جنریشن زیڈ، الفا، وہ بالکل جانتے ہیں کہ کیا ہو رہا ہے اور آپ کی مسلسل کوششوں کے باوجود کہ آپ انہیں اپنا patriotism کا نقطہ نظر بیچیں، وہ اسے دیکھ رہے ہیں۔ انٹرنیٹ کی بدولت، جو تھوڑی بہت تعلیم ہمارے پاس باقی ہے اس کی بدولت، آپ کی بہترین کوششوں کے باوجود کہ عوام کو جتنا ہو سکے ان پڑھ رکھا جائے، آپ ناکام ہو گئے۔ آپ ناکام ہو گئے کہ لوگوں کو بتائیں کہ وہ کیا سوچیں، وہ خود سوچ رہے ہیں۔ شاید وہ اپنے خیالات بلند آواز سے کہنے سے ڈرتے ہوں کیونکہ وہ سانس لینا پسند کرتے ہیں۔ لیکن وہ آپ کے خود ساختہ نیکی اور فضیلت کے نقاب کو دیکھ رہے ہیں۔ آپ طاقت سے اقتدار میں رہ سکتے ہیں لیکن لوگوں کو آپ کی کوئی پرواہ نہیں۔ آپ سیکیورٹی کے بغیر گھر سے باہر بھی نہیں نکل سکتے، اگر یہ آپ کی عوام میں مقبولیت کے بارے میں نہیں بتاتا تو آپ کو چیزوں کا جائزہ لینا چاہیے۔
نوجوانوں نے کافی ہو گیا ہے اور کیونکہ انہوں نے سیکھ لیا ہے کہ وہ طاقتوروں کو چیلنج نہیں کر سکتے، وہ ملک چھوڑ رہے ہیں۔ یہ بہت مثالی ہو گا اگر سوچیں کہ وہ کرپشن کے خلاف تحریک چلائیں گے۔ وہ خاموشی سے نکل جائیں گے اور مڑ کر نہیں دیکھیں گے کیونکہ ان کے دوست جو بولے تھے، خاموش کر دیے گئے۔

لیکن اس سب کے باوجود ہم چلتے رہتے ہیں، کتابوں، سوشل میڈیا، کافی شاپس (جتنا میں ان سے نفرت کرتا ہوں) اور ڈبل پیٹی بیف برگرز میں تسلی ڈھونڈتے ہوئے۔ ہم گندے پانیوں میں تیرتے رہتے ہیں۔ ہم آپ کی ٹی وی پر تقریریں نہیں دیکھتے کیونکہ اکثر جو آپ کہتے ہیں وہ ہنسی کا سامان ہوتا ہے۔ اس کے لیے ہمارے پاس سٹینڈ اپ کامیڈی ہے، مین سٹریم میڈیا کیوں دیکھیں؟
وقت بدل رہا ہے اور جتنی جلدی آپ سمجھیں اتنا بہتر۔ لیکن آپ کو پرواہ بھی نہیں۔ آپ کے بچے باہر ہیں، آپ روزانہ لاکھوں کما رہے ہیں، آپ کے پاس لامحدود طاقت ہے، آپ بہترین کھانے کھاتے اور صاف پانی پیتے ہیں، آپ کو پرواہ کیوں ہو گی؟
تب ہو گی جب آپ کو پتہ چلے گا کہ کوئی آپ کی سن نہیں رہا۔
جانتے ہیں کیوں؟
جنریشن زیڈ نے ہیڈ فون لگا رکھے ہیں اور Spotify پیڈ ہے، اگر صورتحال ناقابل برداشت ہو گئی تو آدھے کے پاس جانے کے وسائل ہوں گے، باقی آدھے آپ کو اپنا میوزک سنوائیں گے اور اچھے انداز میں نہیں۔

1) Title of the Article : “It is over”

2) For the older men and women in power, it’s over. The young generation isn’t buying any of what you’re trying to sell to them. No matter how many talks and seminars you arrange in schools and colleges, trying to promoting patriotism, it isn’t working. Patriotism comes naturally, when there is equal opportunity, sound infrastructure and efficient mechanisms in place.

3) When you provide your people with basic necessities and ensure people get their rights, you won’t have to go to schools and colleges to tell students that they are supposed to love their country, they already will nonetheless.

4) Young minds, the Gen Z, the alphas, they know exactly what is happening and despite your consistent efforts of trying to sell your views of patriotism to them, they are seeing right through it. Thanks to the internet, thanks to whatever little education we have left, despite your best efforts of keeping the masses as illiterate as possible, you have failed.

5) You have failed to tell people what to think, they are thinking for themselves. They might be a little too scared to speak their minds because they prefer breathing. But they see right through the façade of self-righteousness and virtue that you’ve meticulously put together.

6) You may be able to stay in power by using power but the people could not care less about you. You can’t even step outside your house without security, if that doesn’t speak enough about your popularity amongst people, you need to reevaluate things.

7) The younger lot has had enough and because they have learned that they cannot challenge the powers, they’re leaving the country. I would be too idealistic to think that they would lead a movement against corruption. They’d rather take a silent, quiet exit and not look back because their friends, who spoke up, were silenced.

8) But for the boomers, it’s over. The Gen Z wants faster internet, the ones in power want a stronger firewall. The Gen Z wants cheaper smartphones, the boomers want smartphones to be taxed. The Gen Z wants eased restrictions on freelancing, the boomers want to increase regulations on freelancing. There seems to be no common ground amongst them. That is exactly why the boomers have lost.

9) You can orchestrate all the wars you want; Gen Z will make memes out of it. Censor all the mainstream media, Gen Z will jump to platforms like Rumble, YouTube and Discord to voice their opinions. Boomers, you cannot censor thoughts now. Gone are the days when you could fool the people. No one’s being fooled anymore.

10) The economy handed down to us is worse than your morals.

11) We don’t watch when you talk on TV because most of the times whatever you say is hysterical. We have stand-up comedy for that, why watch mainstream media?

12) Times are changing and the sooner you realise the better. But you don’t care either. Your children are abroad, you’re making millions every single day, you enjoy vast, unchecked power, you eat the finest of foods and drink only the cleanest of water, why would you care? You will when you realise no one’s listening to you. You know why? Gen Z has their headphones on and their Spotify paid for, if the situation becomes unbearable, half of them will have enough resources to leave, the other half will make you listen to their music and not in a good way.

13) Boomers. We’ve had enough. We aren’t buying your narrative anymore. It’s worn out.

No matter how many talks and seminars you arrange in schools and colleges, trying to promoting patriotism, it isn’t working. Patriotism comes naturally, when there is equal opportunity, sound infrastructure and efficient mechanisms in place.
