@MikeReiman@spikesonly If peak tension is what people should use to guide exercise choices to drive hypertrophy, plyos would be king. Perhaps peak tension is better than peak EMG, but both are likely missing the boat
Error in the new ACSM position stand? “A meta-regression (187) of the effect of volume (weekly) sets showed progression, but as expected, a dose-response that plateaued and showed diminishing returns beyond ~2–3 sets/exercise for strength and ~18–20 weekly sets for hypertrophy”
@GregLehman If my math is correct, the absolute risk in the valgus group is ~7.8 %, about .5% greater than baseline. Ahhh, the power of large sample sizes.
The ACSM incorrectly rejected some abstracts for their annual meeting and have rectified the issue with me. I can’t help but feel for the people who encountered a similar issue and won’t be able to present the research they deserve to present. I suspect the issue is widespread.
@JASPStats , I believe your repeated measures ANOVA post hoc results with bonferroni corrections are incorrect in the latest JASP version. They were correct on my previous version. I have confirmed this suspicion with R results as well.

This semester, my Sports Science students are ditching IMUs and using OpenCap. Students are a lot more invested when they know they can actually use the same free tech in practice when they graduate. #opencap

@Alan_Couzens Does the typical person not have the capacity to use fat as a fuel? What would happen to these people once they deplete their glycogen stores? Do they die?
Training heavy the day before doesn't leave you still primed to be explosive. Training explosive the day before DOES leave you to still be primed and ready to be explosive. What to do for game day or GD-1 lifts? I know my choice.
