Exceptional cardiovascular health can be seen in populations consuming abundant animal fats.
This reminds me of the classic "French Paradox" where regions in France rely heavily on cheese, cured meats & duck foods such as ‘foie gras’ and ‘magret de canard’ and despite that do not demonstrate higher levels of cardiovascular disease -event the contrary.
That ‘paradox’ is just good PR protecting the LDL dogma, a fundamentally flawed hypothesis regarding saturated fat & cholesterol.
True metabolic dysfunction & cardiovascular issues track directly with modern dietary inputs, specifically refined carbohydrates & industrial seed oils while species-appropriate animal foods support robust longevity.
Fair point! Conventional pork does carry more LA from grain/soy feed (monogastrics vs ruminants). Appreciate the Reaven cite too.
That said, source & context still matter: LA in fresh pork fat comes with vitamins (D/E), other fats and minimal industrial oxidation. Seed oils are often pre-damaged in plastic bottles + heavily refined.
Prefer ruminant fats (tallow/butter) for lowest LA anyway. Biology over dogma. Good discussion.
Don't treat omega-6 in pork and seed oils as identical.
In pork, it comes from the grains pigs eat, but it's delivered alongside lipid-soluble vitamins (D, E) in a minimally processed fat that hasn't undergone industrial oxidation.
The omega-6 in seed oils, on the other hand, is extracted with extreme heat, solvents and refining. Those clear plastic bottles often already contain oxidized compounds before you even open them.
