❗ Such false, biased, and historically distorted statements can only be made under the influence of narrow political interests and radical #armenian 🇦🇲 diaspora propaganda. The mayor of #NewYork, a major international city home to diverse communities should not issue such one-sided and misleading statements. This approach neither respects historical memory nor takes into account the sensitivities of the #Turkish 🇹🇷 and #Azerbaijani 🇦🇿 communities living in the NY city.

The world recognizes #Karabakh as an integral part of Azerbaijan 🇦🇿 . In 2020, Azerbaijan restored its sovereignty by liberating its internationally recognized territories that had remained under occupation for nearly 30 years. Even #Armenia’s 🇦🇲 leadership has recognized Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity and openly stated that the Karabakh issue is closed.

In this context, portraying issues related to Karabakh and historically disputed matters through the rhetoric of “genocide” is a distortion of facts and nothing but political bias. Such statements directly undermine the ongoing #peace process.
