Taking phones off the internet boosts mental health.
People were randomly assigned to block mobile internet for 2 weeks. They socialized, exercised, and read more—and became happier, less depressed & anxious, and more focused.
Being unglued from devices is good for well-being.

António Guterres: "it is important to also recognise the attack by Hamas did not happen in a vacuum. The Palestinian people have been subjected to 56 years of occupation.. their people displaced & their homes demolished. Their hopes for a political solution.. have been vanishing"
Psychology Symposium 2023:
Dr. Aishath Nasheeda, Assistant Professor and MSc Counseling Coordinator, delivered the opening address at the Psychology Symposium. In her address, she highlighted the scarcity of service institutions and skilled professionals in our community and country's mental health sector. She emphasized our institutional mission to cultivate a cadre of specialized mental health professionals to contribute to nation-building, underscoring the purpose of this symposium. Today, our students are showcasing the knowledge, competencies, and skills they have honed during their years of learning at Villa College

Not a political post: As per the list of Visa free countries emailed by @MoFAmv, Maldivians get on-arrival visa to Oman. I went to Oman with my family yesterday just to be sent back since Maldivians DO NOT get on-arrival visa…
Comparison is not the thief of joy. Envy is.
Resenting others' success breeds misery and rivalry. Admiring their success brings motivation and learning.
We all compare ourselves to others. A key to growth and happiness is focusing our comparisons on people who inspire us.
I’m proud of anyone breaking the cycle. Healing their inner child. Learning how to regulate their emotions. People don’t talk about how much humility it takes. Inner work goes unnoticed and unrecognized.
I see you.
Loyalty should never be taken for granted. It should be earned on an ongoing basis.
Relationships come with recurring responsibilities. Prior support doesn't justify current disrespect.
It's up to family, friends, and leaders to keep proving that they deserve your devotion.
People who fall for false information tend to be overconfident in how they think—not just what they think.
Data: those who overestimate their math & reasoning skills are more susceptible to conspiracy theories.
Critical thinking requires a healthy diet of intellectual humility.
Give yourself credit. You're not just trying, you're persisting. You're not just doing your best; you're surpassing your own expectations. Embrace the fact that every step you take, no matter how small it may seem, is a step towards progress.
