This was quite the potent system and those very heavy rainfall totals materialized with the eastern half of the greater NYC metro area seeing the most rain. Generally 6-9” across W LI and the NYC area. JFK broke it’s one day rainfall record with 8.65”. Valley Stream in Nassau County is the highest NY total I’ve seen so far at 9.06” and the overall highest is Bradley Beach in NJ with 10.4”. Western CT with a widespread 3-6” of rain. As you move east lots of 1-3” amounts with locally higher totals mixed in. Very little across E MA - especially Cape Cod…but SE coastal areas will add to the totals a bit today.

Nobody likes all this rain but it’s especially tough for #farmers. Wallingford CT…heading out this am to harvest corn & this is what it looks like. Countless acres of crops have been lost this summer. 😕 If you see a farmer, thank them. #NoFarmsNoFood
