Many young people are unable to work or continue studies while they get the treatment they need, so this financial support is crucial. Protecting their access to Universal Credit Health would be a positive step, but further work needs to be done to ensure young people with cancer get the practical and financial support they need, when they need it, to live with cancer, especially where they are unable to work. We hope these needs are reflected in the upcoming Milburn and Timms Reviews.
With news today of potential changes to Universal Credit Health, we hope that the government will continue to provide under 25s with this vital support... https://t.co/0r81SIFWpE
This financial support is a lifeline for young people we support, helping to meet the additional costs of living with cancer, which average around ยฃ700 a month...

We're at Liberal Democrat conference this weekend, sharing more about the impacts of cancer on children and young people.
By the end of conference, 48 children and young people will have heard the words "you have cancer" and they deserve a system that supports their needs. #LDconf
It was great to see the Prime Minister @Keir_Starmer note the upcoming Travel Fund for children and young people with cancer in England in Prime Minister's Questions yesterday, following a question from @CliveJonesMP.
We look forward to the Travel Fund opening for children and young people with cancer in England by 2027.
Thank you Clive for always being an advocate for people facing cancer, including through your Private Members' Bill.
A big thank you to @ColinSDLP for visiting Amy's House, our Home from Home in Belfast.
We spoke about the high cost of travelling to treatment for children and young people with cancer in Northern Ireland, and the support they and their families need, like a Young Cancer Patient Travel Fund.
@DavidHorne@LNER@NetworkRailEC Thanks so much to you and everyone who was involved in organising such a special day for Jack. He had an amazing time ๐

"Listening is always the key" We're proud to campaign alongside children, young people and their families, like @TimothyPSadler to call for a better system of support.
Tim has been sharing how the cost of travelling to treatment impacts families, and how a travel fund, announced today as part of the National Cancer Plan, will help๐
Tim's son Michael was diagnosed with a rare type of cancer aged two.
He shares how worrying about money made an already difficult time even harder.
Through the National Cancer Plan, we'll cover travel costs for children with cancer.
@YLvsCancer
Breaking news ๐ขUK Government commit to a ยฃ10 million pound Fund to support children and young people with cancer with the cost of getting to treatment.
This is absolutely huge news for young cancer patients and their families who spend an average of ยฃ250 per month travelling to treatment, often over many months or years.
Thank you so much for standing with us to make a massive difference.

We look forward to publication of the National Cancer Plan on Wednesday, and are pleased that after years of campaigning it will include a dedicated section for children and young people - a historic first for a National Cancer Plan for England.
We've been pleased to work with the Children and Young People's Cancer Taskforce to amplify the voices of children, young people and families throughout development of the plan.
๐ข Wednesday is World Cancer Day and that's when we'll publish the National Cancer Plan.
Marrying the very best of British science with our NHS, this plan is how we'll get cancer care from where it is today to where it needs to be.
