We're honoring Mewgenics' Tracy Newkirk with a Hero to Animals Award for her advocacy for the cats of Boon County. Tracy is the only ethical option for where to send your cats (we have nightmares about Baby Jack). She fearlessly educates players on speciesism and using the term "animal companion" instead of "pets." Well done, @edmundmcmillen on creating such a passionate animal advocate!
♫ Tasty legumes and crispy tofu, on her mind! ♫
Australian Aboriginal traditional diet (pre-colonisation):
80% of calories from animals:
- Kangaroo (lean, but they ate all the fat first)
- Emu (fatty)
- Fish (whole, including organs)
- Witchetty grubs (50% fat)
- Bogong moths (seasonal, extremely fatty)
20% from plants:
- Seasonal only
- Heavily processed (soaking, fermenting, roasting to remove toxins)
Physical capabilities documented by early colonists:
- Could track animals across bare rock
- Navigate hundreds of miles without maps
- Survive in 45°C heat
- Exceptional eyesight (could see things Europeans couldn't)
- Strong teeth, no cavities
British colonists introduced wheat, sugar, tea.
Within 50 years:
- Obesity appeared
- Diabetes appeared (previously unknown)
- Dental decay rampant
- Eyesight declined
- Life expectancy dropped
Same genetics. Different food. Catastrophic outcomes.
The pattern repeats everywhere colonization introduced proce
Activist: "You artificially inseminate your cows. That's sexual assault."
Farmer: "Right."
Activist: "You're violating them."
Farmer: "The alternative is a bull."
Activist: "Then use a bull."
Farmer: "A bull that carries disease risk, injures cows during mounting, is dangerous to handle, and produces offspring of unknown genetic quality."
Activist: "That's natural."
Farmer: "Natural includes the bull breaking her pelvis during mounting, which happens."
Activist: "AI is still wrong."
Farmer: "AI is a two-second procedure that results in a healthy calf from a bull selected for temperament, growth rate, and calving ease."
Activist: "Without consent."
Farmer: "The alternative injures cows more frequently. I've chosen the option that's safer for her."
Activist: "You chose it."
Farmer: "Yes. Same as every other welfare decision on this farm. That's the job."
@you_fugg85469 @Haoshoku no wonder why veganism goes hand in hand with misanthropy and ultimately omnicide. veganism is a death cult movement https://t.co/s7d7YJNCBI
@Haoshoku stop pushing your veganistic utilitarian Disney fantasy bs that's never gonna work. no black magic is ever gonna make me swap places with any other animal
Warning: Eating red meat may cause:

– Clear skin
– No bloating
– Zero cravings
– Satisfaction after meals
– Ancestral flashbacks
– Might trigger independent thought
– Butter addiction
– Deep emotional bond with your air fryer
Consult your butcher if symptoms persist.
A helpful guide to what vegan documentaries mean versus what they show.
WHAT THEY SHOW: A vast cattle feedlot in Oklahoma. Ten thousand animals in mud. Steel and concrete. Misery rendered at scale.
WHAT THEY SAY: "This is how beef is produced."
WHAT THEY DO NOT SAY: This is a US feedlot. The United Kingdom has approximately 3.7 million beef cattle. The vast majority live outside. On grass. On hills. In fields with names like Bottom Meadow and Far Pasture. None of them are in Oklahoma.
WHAT THEY SHOW: Drone footage of Amazon deforestation. Burning trees. The scale of it making you feel sick.
WHAT THEY SAY: "Caused by cattle ranching."
WHAT THEY DO NOT SAY: This is Brazilian soy farming to feed Brazilian feedlot cattle for the Brazilian domestic and Chinese export market. Your British supermarket beef did not do this. The Lidl ribeye is not responsible for the Amazon. The soy in your plant-based burger may have a stronger case to answer.
WHAT THEY SHOW: A scientist in a lab coat.
WHAT THEY SAY: "Studies show red meat consumption is linked to..."
WHAT THEY DO NOT SAY: Linked in an epidemiological survey that could not distinguish between someone eating a steak and someone eating a McDonald's. Both counted as "red meat." The person eating McDonald's four times a week and smoking and not exercising was in the same data column as the person eating a grass-fed sirloin.
WHAT THEY SHOW: A plant-based meal, beautifully lit, with the word "WHOLE" somewhere in the caption.
WHAT THEY DO NOT SHOW: The supply chain. The pesticides. The synthetic fertiliser. The food miles. The eight ingredients in the "natural" flavouring. The subsidies. The monoculture that replaced the meadow.
The documentary is not lying exactly.
It is showing you the worst possible version of one system and the best possible photograph of another.
It is a menu in which one dish has a price and the other doesn't.
Order the thing with the price.
At least you know what you're paying.
@NothingIsArt As if vegans are ever Chads like you always imagine. Anyway where do you get that 3 trillion from? If you really want to talk numbers, it's the ants that you should tell them to go vegan, with them farming aphids by the quadrillions
