Pakistani Government Appeals to President Biden for Dr. Aafia Siddiqui's Release

The Pakistani government has sent an official letter to U.S. President Joe Biden, requesting a pardon for Dr. Aafia Siddiqui, who has been imprisoned in the U.S. since 2010. During a hearing at the Islamabad High Court, the Additional Attorney General informed that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has asked President Biden to show compassion and release Dr. Siddiqui.

The letter highlights her 16 years of imprisonment and appeals for her sentence to be forgiven on humanitarian grounds, with millions of Pakistanis eagerly awaiting her release.

Karachi: The ANF intercepted a parcel sent from Peshawar, revealing a cleverly disguised attempt to smuggle 1.2 kilograms of hashish and a substantial arsenal of weapons, including 5 x 9mm pistols, 2 x 30-bore pistols, 17 magazines, and 55 rounds. The weapons and drugs were expertly concealed within battery chargers and juicers, indicating a sophisticated and professional trafficking network.
This incident highlights the alarming connection between terrorism and narcotics, where extremist groups exploit drug trafficking to finance their activities .
The ANF has taken custody of the seized materials and initiated further investigations to track down those involved. This operation underscores the importance of collaborative efforts to dismantle the intricate web of terrorism and narcotics trafficking.
