Leading the charge in the fight against drugs!
Our latest initiatives showcase our dedication to breaking down drug supply networks while boosting awareness in educational institutions. We’re not just taking substances off the streets; we’re seizing the chance to create a brighter, drug-free future for our communities.
Here’s a quick snapshot of our activities over the past two weeks:
Cracking Down on Drugs!
The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) made significant strides in their mission to combat drug trafficking from Sept 30 - Oct 6.
- Seized 165 kg of drugs worth $24.789 million
- Arrested 33 individuals, including 1 female and 1 foreigner
- Impounded 7 vehicles
Targeting drug suppliers in educational institutions, the ANF recovered 10.299 kg of drugs and arrested 15 accused. #DrugFreeCampus
Stay safe, stay informed! The ANF also conducted awareness sessions and public campaigns to educate about drug abuse risks.
The incoming Director of INL (International Narcotics Control and Law Enforcement), Mr. Lynn Nelson, and incoming INL CN Program Officer, Mr. Ned Swan, met with DG ANF Major General Abdul Moeed HI(M). CN Advisor Mr. Mark Kennedy and Program Specialist Mr. Yousaf Kairaniwala also attended. INL and Pakistan's government have collaborated on counternarcotics efforts since the 1980s, focusing on law enforcement training, operational support, crop control, and demand reduction projects.

Karachi: The ANF intercepted a parcel sent from Peshawar, revealing a cleverly disguised attempt to smuggle 1.2 kilograms of hashish and a substantial arsenal of weapons, including 5 x 9mm pistols, 2 x 30-bore pistols, 17 magazines, and 55 rounds. The weapons and drugs were expertly concealed within battery chargers and juicers, indicating a sophisticated and professional trafficking network.
This incident highlights the alarming connection between terrorism and narcotics, where extremist groups exploit drug trafficking to finance their activities .
The ANF has taken custody of the seized materials and initiated further investigations to track down those involved. This operation underscores the importance of collaborative efforts to dismantle the intricate web of terrorism and narcotics trafficking.
The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has intensified its nationwide counter-narcotics campaign in educational institutions, achieving notable success in recent operations. Over the past 72 hours, ANF has conducted multiple raids, resulting in the seizure of a significant quantity of illicit drugs and the apprehension of alleged suppliers accused of providing narcotics to students. Underscoring its commitment to eradicating drug abuse in colleges and universities, ANF is leaving no stone unturned to ensure the well-being, safety, and future of students across the country."

*Successful Undercover Operation: Drug Supplier Arrested*
ANF conducted a successful undercover operation today near a Grammar School in Afzal Town, Rawalpindi. The target was a notorious drug supplier accused of providing drugs to students and youth in Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
*Arrest and Recovery*
The operation resulted in the arrest of the culprit resident of Chaklala Scheme 3, Rawalpindi. A thorough search of the accused led to the recovery of:
- 2 packets of Hashish, each weighing 1.200 Kg, totaling 2.400 Kg
*Legal Proceedings*
The accused and seized items have been transferred to ANF PS for further legal proceedings. An FIR has be registered in accordance with prosecution requirements.
*Heroin Smuggling Plot Hidden in Potato Shipment.*
In a significant crackdown ANF successfully intercepted a large shipment of heroin concealed within a consignment of potatoes at Karachi International Container Terminal destined for Srilanka.
The container consisted of 1,198 bags of potatoes, loaded at a warehouse in Punjab. During the detailed physical search of the container, the ANF team discovered approximately 5 kgs of heroin skillfully concealed in only one or two heroin-filled potatoes mixed within random 25 kg bags.
Further investigations are ongoing under the CNS ACT to uncover the full extent of this smuggling network.
Take a look at the key highlights of ANF's targeted operations last week, as we intensify our efforts to protect our youth and educational institutes.
