One time, I sat down in my seat on the plane and didn’t notice at first that the armrest was up, leaving myself vulnerable and exposed to maybe accidentally brushing against a stranger’s arm
By the time I noticed, it felt like the window of time to put it down had passed. It would be rude, like knowing someone for too long to ask their name.
So I just sat there the whole flight, exposed and extremely conscious of it.
