I used to see sloppy code as a liability because it made it harder for me to make future changes.
Now I see sloppy code as a liability because the agent writes even more sloppy code as each session tries to maintain existing patterns.
Sloppy code is still a liability.
Based. Nobody needs consoles that are just PCs but worse.
People are buying consoles because they have games that are hard optimized for the console, that utilize console's capabilities that no other console has.
For some reason, only Nintendo seem to understand this.
Cómo demonios podía una PS3 con solo 0,5 GB de memoria mover PROTOTYPE hace 17 años?
Hoy muchos estudios necesitarían 32 GB, tres parches y una RTX para intentarlo.
La optimización se ha perdido.
Humans tend towards solutions that add more things rather than removing them, so it’s no surprise that LLMs trained on a corpus of human work can’t figure out how to remove code
@Jonathan_Blow@LukasHozda Feels like hating manual memory management, and several other things cause the big issue with coding. Productivity isn't enhanced with "higher level" languages...
Humans doing math is not “at odds with progress” for any meaningful sense of the term. Mathematics without a subjective human interpreter has always been fully “discovered” given that it’s simply rules downstream of reality. It only matters to people insofar as there is a person who interprets, understands, and is able to use the mathematics. Therefore, fewer humans doing math is actually *regression*—even given that steps in doing this mathematics can be automated, a regressed human population (unable to wield will or think) reflects a substantial deterioration of society.
Please take a moment to honor the CIVILIANS killed in the Bridge Attack in Iran
People who cheer for war on countries that are not theirs, this is the results. Innocent people die, while you cheer on missiles.
Their Names:
🌷 Abdulrahim Jaafari-Fard

TEHRAN BOOK GARDEN
This country has rich history and culture. Their love for literature is exemplified by the Tehran Book Garden. A large complex full of books and activities for the family.
This is something the Gulf can never replicate. They don’t have the love for books and literature, hence why they will always be mentally behind.
Loved my time here.
@rfleury@antoniosarosi 100 to this. I can't believe how much folks don't want to understand. To me, memory allocation isn't hard but people think it's too much.
People who were mid before AI, got way worse with it. Comparatively speaking, people who were good before AI, got only marginally better. Not enough to compensate. That's why almost everything around you is becoming slop.
Literally all of that is available in Iran.
“Hyperstar”, “Shahrvand”, “Refah”, and “Ofogh Koorosh” are the Costcos and Walmarts of Iran. “Digikala” is their Amazon.
Levin is absolutely clueless.
Yes, Jesus, born about 2,030 ys ago to Mary, whose statues they burn, whose followers they spit on, & whose churches they bomb while denying Christmas prayers, is now being called ‘indigenous’ to a state created in 1948 on ethnic cleansing & notorious today as a haven 4 pedophiles
@valigo The villan part might be something I agree with but games need story to be engaging otherwise like it's repetitive stuff over and over again. Quests or just levels made to see how you can get through them just end up being unmemorable.
I have thoughts on the game industry situation.
1. Most work is done by a tiny % of people.
2. MS bought studios and the super producers cashed out.
3. After they left the studios couldn’t produce cost effectively.
The U.S. claimed it was targeting IRGC speedboats.
In reality, they BOMBED 30 CIVILIAN Fishing Boats across Iran's Hormozgan province.
Now DOZENS are families have lost their only way of making money. 3 people were also killed.
Prague in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is still the gold standard for small open worlds. No giant map full of empty space, just pure density. Every alley hides a story, every door leads somewhere, every NPC has a life. Proof that bigger isn't always better.
