Every time I hear the Education Minister speak, I wonder if he knows there are bigger problems to solve.
If he’s looking for ideas that would have a far bigger impact than bringing back corporal punishment, here are 3:
1. Make sure every child can read, write and do basic maths by Primary 3. If a child gets these right early, every other subject becomes easier.
2. Make technical and vocational schools a first choice, not a last option. We needs skilled electricians, welders, mechanics, plumbers and technicians just as much as lawyers and doctors.
3. Invest more in teachers than buildings. Better training, support and pay for teachers is one of the best investments any country can make.
Just these 3 things.
My wife and I have made a list of five people we can sleep with if we ever get the chance.
She picked Brad Pitt, Sam Elliott, Tom Hardy, Kevin Costner, and Jon Hamm.
I’ve gone for her sister, her cousin, her best friend, the blonde UPS driver and the girl with big boobs at Dunkin’. Now I’m sleeping on the sofa because apparently she is not happy with my choices.
“That Tyla show will NOT happen. To the organizers; if you try us, we will come there, disrupt it and face whatever consequences. Ratels have the numbers. If Nigerians want to see an entertainer in short skirts, we already have Ayra Starr.”
