@alexL_E_I How is Door III? I was going to watch it out of Kiyoshi completionism but I wasn’t particularly impressed with the first Door + not sure what more can be done with the central conceit.

You're paying the crew what they demanded through a vote- better pay and benefits and you got to make your movie.
You're on Twitter complaining about your fucking crew. Get a grip.
@barbarismcrit@nikitabier Most likely too busy choking or freezing to death while drinking a hot chocolate. My app has now also decided to overwhelmingly show me replies to private accounts that I cannot see.
@jthipster@barbarismcrit The dissonance I just can’t wrap my head around is the idea that it both-sides the issue. The amount of scorn leveled at the left in the movie is about as minuscule as the humanization it lends to the right. It might be an essentially liberal movie, but it’s far from dismissive.
@jenny2x4 The fucked up part to me is how many “left wing” outlets I at least somewhat respected have been using the ICE affair (which by all means should be reported on) as an excuse to completely ignore their idols’ complete capitulation.
@_motherslug Rewatching the movie left me with much the same feeling. Enjoyed it just as much, but left the second time thinking I applied far too much cynicism the first time based on prior Safdie works.
@decoyrobot This is my main problem with the movie tbh. I just don’t find what he has to say within the “pastiche” (for lack of a better word) of shaw or jidageiki very interesting. It’s why I much prefer Vol 2, where Tarantino I feel is much more in his wheelhouse with the tools on display.
@ettingermentum His only real win was Frey winning after he ratfucked Fateh and even that seems to have made a net zero change in Trump going scorched earth on the state.
@EPM106 I feel like I put way too much weight into the cultural influence of film in the modern era, but I still can’t imagine believing George Clooney played essentially any meaningful role in the election.
@MaddAddam10@NeilBahadur I think there's a degree to people bot being able to definitively see which brother contributes what like what you saw with the Coen brothers that makes people quick to judge, what with Josh immediately following up on the high intensity style and Benny taking more of a departure
