When it comes to AI’s role in the future of physics, Sarah Demers, physics chair at Yale University, has mixed feelings. “It’s so wrong, and it’s so incredible, simultaneously.” https://t.co/zAeeM54Ptj
Congratulations to #yalewrightlab 's Gregory Penn, who successfully defended the thesis, "The Search for Evidence of Electroweak Baryogenesis with Higgs Decays to Tau Leptons at ATLAS" (advisor: Sarah Demers).

Yesterday, the students in the Summer Explorations in Robotics program at #yalewrightlab worked with their robots and learned about the Yale CEID—first from Wright Lab undergraduates who are working on projects at the CEID, and then by taking a tour of the CEID itself.
The middle school students in Summer Explorations at #yalewrightlab have been busy building & coding robots, touring the @yalepeabody and Wright Lab, learning about Wright Lab science from Professor Karsten Heeger, and observing cosmic rays passing through a Cloud Chamber.
Today we began the Summer Explorations in Robotics, Programming, Science, and Technology at #yalewrightlab, a week-long free program for middle school students from the New Haven Area. Today, students built an autonomous robot and programmed it.
The #yalewrightlab summer students attended a presentation & panel on Science Communication. They learned tips for publishing papers, giving scientific presentations, & communicating science to the public from David Moore, Mira Varma, and Morgan Knuesel. @YalePhysicsDept
The #yalewrightlab summer students visited
@BeineckeLibrary for the program's annual viewing of historical scientific books owned by @yalelibrary , including by Copernicus, Galileo, Newton, Kepler, Benjamin Franklin & others, mostly from the 16th-18th centuries. @YalePhysicsDept
Today @Yale_QI's Florian Carle led an engaging hands-on workshop for our summer students on how to send secure communication in a quantum world from Alice (Yale's Handsome Dan) to Bob (@SCSU 's Otus), with interfering eavesdropping from Eve (#yalewrightlab Zebra)!
The summer students enjoyed meeting up at the CT State Colleges and Universities Center for Quantum and Nanotechnology (QNT) at nearby @SCSU. The group from Yale took a tour of the beautiful QNT facilities and then joined the Werth IAF Fellows for lunch and a planetarium show.
