Some 13.8 billion years ago, the universe began in a big bang – or, at least, that is what we think happened. @SimonsObs astrophysicist Jo Dunkley (@j_dunkley) is leading efforts to work out exactly what took place in the immediate aftermath of that moment of cosmic creation. https://t.co/McfAhrK1YA #science #astrophysics

They got the photo wrong, that’s ACT and Simons Array 🤷🏼‍♂️ here’s a modern photo of the @SimonsObs site. 📸 Rolando Dunner, @GabrieleCoppi, @FedericoNati, and Matias Rojas from our drone calibration team.

Tonight!! Come learn about the universe and say hi to a bunch of cosmologists, Chicago! 👋

[Andrea Zonca @andreazonca]

At @UChicago for @SimonsObs collaboration meeting, more than 200 scientists.

[Maximiliano Silva-Feaver @msilvafeaver]

The @SimonsObs collaboration meeting has kicked off with a great first day full of highlights of how far we’ve come in the last year!

[Astronomy on Tap CHI @AoTchicago]

Our upcoming AoT will be a special event in which we partner with the scientists from Simons Observatory who have descended on Chicago for their annual collaboration meeting. Come learn about the Cosmic Microwave Background and the telescopes that can measure it! 🌠🌠🌠

Albert Einstein didn’t believe gravitational waves were detectable- even though be predicted them! I wonder what he would think of these Five new ways to catch gravitational waves — and the secrets they’ll reveal ⁦@Nature⁩ ⁦@SimonsObs⁩ https://t.co/RKnMoFH0q7

Awesome. You only left out the out-of-this-world astronomy that takes place exclusive in Chile thanks to its unique geography 🇨🇱: @SimonsObs @ACT_Pol @CLASS_telescope
