Contract day 1 of year 1 and I’m stuck in bed after throwing up all day. Praying this isn’t a sign of the year to come... #Year1 #FirstYear

I worked on my classroom for 13.5 hours today with one of my besties. I’m exhausted, but the bright side is I’m 80% done. #FirstYear

Oh and by the way I’m teaching 3rd graders. When is enough enough?

In my SS class today, I had a student point out a pair of neon tall socks that another student was wearing and say “you better hope we don’t have an intruder...” I cut the student off before they could say more, but it alarmed me that that’s what my student thought first.

I can’t wait to get started! #Year1

Mrs. Beckstead’s first graders reached their reading stamina goal of 20 minutes. They earned flashlights and forts for a celebration.

I hope my immune system is taking notes on how to battle kiddo germs for next year...I’ve been sick with a head cold off and on for the last two weeks! Good thing my kiddos are worth it! #StudentTeaching #BuildingSkills #AndMyImmuneSystem
