In face-to-face interaction people can learn incidentally new concepts talking to more expert people. Using data from ECOLANG, we show that both verbal dimensions and multimodal behaviours support learning in dyadic interaction #CogSci2024
We document caregivers’ multimodal language (n= 72, children: 2-4 years) in semi naturalistic interaction. We show how multimodal language differ when talking about objects that are present vs absent. Multimodal iconicity is more common for absent objects. @ESRC@ERC_Research
