The big idea: Africa shouldn't pick a single winner for AI compute. Every country needs a different next step, from investigating sites, to building power and connectivity, to simply collecting better data. In fact, 23 of 54 African countries don't yet have enough public data to be compared.

Karima is a graduate of Cybersecurity from the Air Force Institute of Technology, Kaduna. She combines her knowledge of cybersecurity with her passion for UI/UX design and the Bitcoin ecosystem where she aspires to grow further in as the years go by.

Through open-source contributions, community engagement, education, and product design, she actively contributes to building solutions and creating opportunities for people to learn, connect, and participate in the digital space.

As a Human of YandyTech, Karimatu brings in her technology and digital skills, creativity, and expertise to support innovation and explore new possibilities within the ecosystem.

Bashir has a background in Business Administration from the University of Maiduguri but along the line became passionate about community development, technology, and using innovation to create
positive social impact.

His journey is shaped by youth leadership, volunteerism, and a commitment to advancing education,peace building, and sustainable development across Northeast Nigeria. He is also interested in entrepreneurship and creative design, exploring ways to use new ideas to solve everyday challenges.

Through his work at YandyTech, Bashir hopes to connect young people, share knowledge, and support initiatives that empower communities and create lasting change. He believes that
collaboration, continuous learning, and innovation are essential to building a better future.

Meet Precious Akhilorme, YandyTech’s Community Manager!

Precious is a Statistics graduate from the Federal University of Technology, Minna.

She has explored different paths, from UI/UX design to community management and
programme development. Along the way, she discovered her passion for bringing
people together and creating spaces where they can learn, connect, and grow.

She is particularly passionate about youth empowerment, women’s advancement,
and digital inclusion. For Precious, it is not just about building communities; it is about
helping people find the knowledge, connections, and opportunities they need to
move forward.

Through her work, she continues to turn ideas into meaningful experiences that
create value for others. And as a result of this, she has contributed heavily to the
growth of our community by providing them with links to decent opportunities and also creating opportunities for capacity building amongst many other KPIs she has hit since her onboarding to the YandyTech team.

Hope studied Biochemistry at Kaduna State University and is passionate about creating opportunities that help people thrive. As a development practitioner, her work
focuses on technology, education, gender, and social impact. She also helps to design programmes and partnerships that move people from vulnerability to possibility.

She is particularly interested in social protection, digital inclusion, youth leadership, and building systems that work for people who are often overlooked.

Beyond work, She enjoys reading,
mentoring young people, and turning innovative ideas into practical solutions that make a difference.

Hope has contributed greatly to the organisation as she has developed internal policies which have kept the organisation and team members in check and also protected people affiliated to YandyTech.

We are scaling Muryanmu.

YandyTech Community is pleased to announce Muryanmu (Our Voice) V2.0, a nine-month civic technology initiative supporting access to trusted and understandable civic and electoral information ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 General Election.

With support from @CIVICUSalliance through the Digital Democracy Initiative (DDI), the project will focus on Kaduna, Kano and Katsina, strengthening MurBot, multilingual access, electoral information tools and community outreach.

Our goal is simple: help citizens, especially young and first-time voters, find, understand and verify civic information more easily.

NEW GRANT ALERT!

We’re excited to announce that Muryanmu V2.0 project has received grant support from @CIVICUSalliance

Running from October 2026 to June 2027, this next phase will build on Muryanmu’s work to make civic and electoral information more accessible, understandable, and actionable for citizens.

Through this new support, we’ll be refurbishing and strengthening the Muryanmu platform, improving features such as verified election information, polling-unit information, voter education, civic guidance, electoral safety insights, multilingual access, and MurBot. The goal is to make the platform more user-friendly, accessible, effective, and responsive to the needs of the communities it serves.

With a focus on Kaduna, Kano, and Katsina, Muryanmu V2.0 is about taking citizen engagement to the next level—strengthening the digital tools people can use to access reliable information, find their voice, and participate meaningfully in civic life.

We’re grateful to @CIVICUSalliance for supporting this next chapter of Muryanmu, and we can’t wait to get to work.

PEACE STARTS WHEN YOUNG PEOPLE HAVE THE SPACE TO SPEAK, LISTEN, LEARN, AND ACT.

Over the past two days, we brought together 20 young people in Kaduna for the Youth Peace Innovation Lab Bootcamp under the Tech4Peace and Citizen Lab initiative of @YandyTech in partnership with Thrive360 Youth Initiative.

It was more than just a training.

Participants shared experiences, asked difficult questions, listened to different perspectives, and explored practical ways young people can contribute to peace in their communities.

We looked at what drives conflict, how dialogue can help, how to understand different community stakeholders, the importance of community listening, Youth, Peace and Security (YPS), and how technology and innovation can support local peacebuilding.

Most importantly, the conversations were grounded in the realities young people see and experience in their own communities.

And this is only the beginning.

The next step is taking these conversations beyond the room and turning what was learned into practical, community-informed ideas and solutions.

We are looking forward to seeing what these 20 young people do next.
