@Yassine51172 @NathanJRobinson The point is this: The US military is absurdly powerful and could do unbelievable damage to the planet. Even under a severely mentally ill president like Trump, the US military isnt even doing a fraction of the total harm it could potentially inflict upon the world.

@myrxyani @RealChrisJaxon Also, almost certainly way more Japanese soldiers and civilians would have died if the US had invaded the mainland instead of ending the war quickly with nukes. I know it sounds cold, but thats the reality of it, war is ugly and horrible.

Gay rights? Women’s rights? The right to vote? How often they go to war? Foreign policy in general? You choose

@Yassine51172 @NathanJRobinson One of the main reasons why Afghanistan is “barely a country” most likely has something to do with the fact that it is ran by Islamic extremists. But sure, lets compare more moderate Muslim countries to the US, its still an easy argument for me to make:

@Yassine51172 @NathanJRobinson The fact that you think Al Qaida would bother with things such as using media to white wash anything shows that you really have no clue about how islamic extremists think, or govern. I suggest you take a look at how the current Afghan government treats their own citizens.

@ClosetedSocial1 @NathanJRobinson Actual white supremacists would kill way, way more innocent brown people at home and abroad, I can guarantee you that. Probably roughly as many as islamic extremists, actually. Turns out extremism is pretty bad, almost irregardless of whichever flavor it may be.

@NathanJRobinson One difference being that Al Quadea generally would encourage such behavior, while even the IDF will at least sometimes prosecute its own soldiers for committing such crimes, and the IDF is probably the most ruthless military force within the Western world mind you

@RealChrisJaxon I am obviously aware that the US also committed horrible acts and war crimes in ww2. But if we were to compare these two powers in terms of their brutality at the time, it’s not even close.

@RealChrisJaxon If u seriously think the Japanese leadership at the time would have had the same ethical concerns as the contemporary US leadership. If u really want, we can get into specifics. I would suggest u look up how the Japanese treated their POWs compared to the US at the time, and yes
