You know what, the issue I have with that second yellow card isn't that I don't think he fouled him. It's the fact that next week or the week after another ref will let a player who has commited 3 or more of those fouls go free and unpunished.
Just so inconsistent.
In the last month, City have had an offside goal given against United, an Elliot Anderson handball not given against Sunderland, Gravenberch sent off for two soft yellows against Liverpool, and theyโve been found guilty of industrial scale cheating. The Premier League is a farce.
A reminder that Michael Oliver visited UAE before making this decision, accepting a suspicious ยฃ20,000 payment to officiate just *one* game.
This saga might run a lot deeper than whatโs been exposed already.
It's a victory that is likely to mean absolutely nothing in a couple of months when City get their punishment for nearly a decade of cheating. What a mess the Premier League is in.
Iโm disappointed we never took our chances when we were the better team without 3 of our starting players until the red card, but I can sympathise with the team because it was not a fair 90 minutes against a side found guilty of cheating.
We go again on Wednesday.
There is 1 ref based in Merseyside. He's never officiated Liverpool or Everton as he is not allowed.
There are 3 Manc refs. Taylor, Kavanagh & Tierney. They've refereed Utd or City 209 times.
After the Prem look into City they need to look into the PGMOL.
