A Cleveland fan (Joe Oravec) asked Derek Jeter what he thought about playing in Cleveland, from Jacobs Field to the city’s nightlife and restaurants.

Jeter said he never went out, but one memory has always stuck with him: hitting a home run on Opening Day at Jacobs Field and never getting the ball back because the fan who caught it kept it.

Jeter had nothing but praise for Cleveland’s baseball atmosphere. He recalled the sold-out crowds, the great Cleveland teams of the late ‘90s and early 2000s, and said it was “a fun place to play” and that he always enjoyed coming to Cleveland.
