We have to make the cost of acquisition of a seat in Parliament equal to an election itself, failing which, the forces of economics will incentivize party leaders to always consider the option of poaching of other parties' elected representatives.

A change I wish to see in Malaysia;
That when elected representatives who wish to switch political parties, such an event will automatically trigger a by-election; and that elected representatives are not entitled as of right to cart around their constituency like a backpack.
