Meritz Securities signed an MoU with the Canton Foundation in Seoul. They’re assessing tokenization of Korean assets under current rules and whether Canton's privacy model fits local capital markets. No product, no date, no named security. It's a review. Shinhan is already a Super Validator. Another securities firm moving only as the framework allows is the realistic path

BREAKING: Korea's Meritz Securities signed an MOU with the Canton Foundation to work on tokenizing Korean financial assets. Shinhan Asset Management became Korea's first Canton super validator this month.

Funding desks won’t settle on a ledger that shows the whole book. In repo, the counterparty, the size, and the collateral terms are the trade.

Broadridge’s Distributed Ledger Repo platform has been on Canton since 2023. It handles the agreement, the collateral move, and the settlement, including intraday and cross-border trades.

In September it processed $7.5 trillion, about $359 billion a day. August was $7.4 trillion. Same workflow. That’s a run-rate, not a launch.

DLR is the $7.5 trillion. DLX is the wider tokenized-asset layer still being built out. Not TVL. If the next print holds, September is the baseline.
