Nearly 100,000 lives at risk as hunger hits Abegregel district in Central #Tigray

Head of Economic Sector for the district of Abergele Yechila Alemayehu Gebremariam warns over 95, 000 people are at risk of death from hunger.

The head noted the hunger caused in the district exacerbated by the three years long devastating war that has crippled the economic sector in the region, families in the district are now forced to leave their hometowns and migrating in search of food security.

Alemayehu highlights 2 of the 3 schools in the district are closed as student find themselves unable to attend schools due to the hunger.

The head called upon the Tigray Interim Administration, the Federal government, and the international community to pull their efforts together to save ten thousand of lives.

Ashenda is being celebrated in Abi-Adi under the theme of "Peace, Healing and Reconstruction of Tigray."

According to our reporter Saron Tsegay from Abi-Adi, as part of the festival, research papers on the origins and values ​​of Ashenda, Ashenda in the past and today and its assets in the localities of Temben were presented.
