Wait, you're telling me that running $2 trillion deficits, introducing new taxes on goods, and starting a fresh war in the Middle East, has not been effective at getting the cost of living down?
The bond market is out of control.
The US 30Y Note Yield is now up to 5.27%, its highest level since June 2007.
This officially marks a +450 basis point rally since the low seen in 2020.
At the current pace, we are on track to see US 30Y mortgage rates exceed 7.50% by year-end.
And to top it all off, Fed Chair Warsh is now adamant that the market should operate independently, without Fed guidance.
Even without rate hikes or Fed guidance, the market is sending rates higher; operating exactly how Fed Chair Warsh wants it to operate.
The bond market will soon be the most talked about component of global capital markets.
This simply is not sustainable.
Incredible week for moderately to insanely wealthy New York people logging onto the internet and basically posting "i have been committing tax fraud and I deserve pity"
Laughing at that flat line period in early 2025 wen DOGE thought they could do smt but then they realized this economy doesn’t run without the money printer
National debt jumped $41 billion yesterday, blasting through $39.8 trillion, while yields converge ~5%
The arithmetic is ugly: $40 trillion at 5% is $2 trillion/yr in interest alone...
Hilarious how ppl of power have no issue making such jokes about something from 6 years ago while TRUMP was president, but not a single one of them has the balls to bring up Epstein or the dogshit K shaped economy or the Iran war or every one of his broken promises
A fully masked ICE agent pepper sprayed a woman in New York yesterday merely for videotaping.
This is what tyranny looks like in Trump’s America. Imagine if Biden had Trump supporters pepper sprayed for videotaping.
When we wanted to house the baby boomers, we built Stuytown, NYC in 4 years.
In communist China, they build 10 million homes per year.
In purportedly capitalist SF, we endlessly discuss whether to build any homes.
Hundreds of #SanFrancisco Marina residents turned out this evening for townhall on controversial @Safeway housing plan, which would place what for many is an uncomfortably tall, 22 & 18 story project at the low-slung neighborhood’s waterfront.
@sfchronicle
- the Golden State Warriors front office has had maybe the most embarrassing last 7 years of any franchise and it doesn’t look worse only because #30 covers up 90% of blemishes.
Breaking News: Federal officials acknowledged in court documents that they canceled grants to states that didn’t vote for President Trump in 2024. https://t.co/FeH69OK3fq
I mean, this is very clearly something that's impeachable, but I've lost count of how many stories like this there have been.
Well into the upper 100s.
