@makemytripcare@makemytrip I am booking an international ticket from India. I have to enter my passport details while booking. I’m looking to renew my passport, can I update the renewed details on my ticket after the passport renewal? Before the trip?
@Niva_Bupa Very to reach out to someone at Niva Bupa. I have a query regarding a additional document that is required for my claim. I don't see any email ID to reach out to, neither can I reach a human on your IVR. The Support feature,I cannot seem to submit - some glitch or bug.
Hello, Adarsh, here are some truth bombs:
The "S" in BHMS (Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery) is an imaginary entity much like the pretense that Homeopathy is healthcare and its practitioners, doctors.
BHMS is a degree awarded to undergraduates after completing 5.5-year (4.5 years study + 1-year internship) college course. No other country in the world (including Germany - the birthplace of Homeopathy) has such a program specifically tailored to destory younger generations future/ career.
BHMS is an absolute waste of a lifetime, that ONLY Indian medical system 'awards' undergraduates who were not competent enough to become medical doctors because they couldn't clear the NEET-UG exam entry to MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery).
It is also a short-cut that absolute science and health illiterate parents give their children, to see the title of "Dr." in front of their names. This is more of a parental greed and selfish choice due to which children suffer for life and their futures destroyed.
BHMS education is expensive nothing. So once the student enters the course, they are unable to break away from it, because too much has already been invested in it (Sunk Cost Fallacy). So they carry on and complete it (because parents pay for the college) and practice it (because the student has to get back what was spend, including repay education loans).
So forget the Surgery part, Homeopathy practitionere are not even real medical physicians. They still believe that "vital force" in the body decides health and disease, sells alcohol, sugar and distilled water as medical "cures" and live a lie their whole lives.
Homeopathy students are taught how to fool themselves in the first place in college, and then train themselves to fool others in the name of "gentle healing". Many Homeopaths, when they realize Homeopathy is in fact "reckless fraud", they sooner or later - when their dead conscience light up - leave the profession and jump towards sensible careers. This is a fact.
If any parent really care about their children's future in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), understand that BHMS is the worst (also BAMS - Ayurveda, BUMS - Unani, BSMS - Siddha, BYNS - Naturopathy) that you can put your children through. Do not destroy their lives. Help them feel confident and secure through real STEM careers.
I also want to drop truth bombs about Ayurveda and its cringe BAMS degree, but I will reserve it for another time.
This is the saddest thing I have read in a very long time.
As a doctor, speaking with families about death and seeing people die is a routine for me.
We like to believe that people who die, are off to a place where things are better. It's a nice thought. But reality is that they just cease to exist.
After they die, everything goes back to being exactly the same before their birth. Except for memories.
Inside memories of those who could experience life with you, until they die and live as memories inside those who were close to them.
Live in the present to the fullest. Do good for others. Keep your family close. Do things that make you happy. Give back to your community.
So that you'll live and prosper inside memories after you pass away.
STAY WITH ME.
A few years ago, a patient was referred to me because he was diagnosed with complicated cirrhosis. He had an infection which led to a condition called hepatic encephalopathy (brain failure due to high ammonia levels). The treatment largely involved ammonia reducing therapies. One drug was central to this - Rifaximin - a non-absorbable antibiotic that reduced ammonia in the body. I prescribed him Rifaximin for 6 weeks and advised him follow-up.
He came back to me, not after six weeks, but in 4 weeks, this time, in liver coma (worst stage of brain failure - due to very high ammonia). He spent two days in the ICU and six days in total in the hospital. His hospital bill was close to INR 80,000. He had no insurance and his wife borrowed the money from neighbors and friends to clear hospital dues.
Upon questioning, I found that he was not taking the Rifaximin drug I had prescribed. He was only on the other two drugs (one, a syrup called lactulose for improving ammonia clearance in gut). I was furious, because the patient spent a whole week unecessarily in the ICU and wasted so much money that he never had - just because he was "not compliant" to my orders. I decided it was time for me to school him a bit.
But I was wrong. He was compliant. He had purchased Rifaximin and was on it. For 15 days. Thereafter, he could not afford it. He was an autorickshaw driver who shuttled school children every morning and evening. He could hardly make ends meet. He had two children of his own. The Rifaximin brand I prescribed him was 42 rupees per tablet. He had to consume two a day - which would mean 2520 rupees a month. He just did not have that money - so he skipped it - to not compromise on other important matters - childrens education and food.
He was confused and scared about opting for a cheaper version of Rifaximin because one, he was unsure about the quality of Rifaximin that was not prescribed by me and two, he was "scared" that I would scold him for buying a cheaper Rifaximin and if that got him into trouble.
I was confused and scared about prescribing a cheaper version of Rifaximin because one, I was unsure about the quality of Rifaximin that was not "a good promoted brand" and two, I was "scared" that his family would scold me for prescribing a cheaper Rifaximin and if that got him into trouble.
It is heartbreaking that many doctors still simply don’t trust generic medicines. Too often, they worry that these cheaper options are lower quality or might cause more problems than the big, famous brands. This fear leads them to prescribe expensive drugs instead, and the real tragedy is that it pushes vital healthcare out of reach for the ordinary people who need it most - like my patient.
This narrative, that generic drugs 'are never good' and that only big pharmaceutical marketed drugs are what works has been deeply ingrained into doctors and patients alike - I do not know by whom and since when. Looking back, these strong emotions were based on either opinions, testimonials or second- and third-hand information. Not evidence.
Like I said. Stay with me. This is life changing and will disrupt the drug market in India. Here are the results of The Citizens Generic vs. Brand Drugs Quality Project.

IMPORTANT!
Dear friends, we need your help.
The Citizens Generics vs. Branded Drugs Project is now LIVE! for your contributions.
India is the "Pharmacy of the World," supplying 20% of global generic medicines. Yet millions of Indian patients remain trapped between unaffordable branded drugs and generics they don't trust.
We're changing that through citizen-funded science.
The question we're answering: Is your affordable medicine just as effective as the expensive brand—or are you compromising your health to save money?
Our project analyses essential medicines across critical therapeutic categories to rigorous laboratory analysis:
✅Antibiotics - Azithromycin, Amoxicillin, Rifaximin
✅Heart & Blood Pressure - Telmisartan, Amlodipine, Clopidogrel, Atorvastatin, Aspirin
✅Diabetes & Gout - Metformin, Febuxostat
✅Digestive Health - Pantoprazole, Omeprazole, Ranitidine, UDCA
✅Pain & Inflammation - Paracetamol, Ibuprofen, Prednisolone
✅Allergy & Respiratory - Montelukast, Cetirizine
✅Thyroid & Supplements - Thyroxine, Folic Acid, Calcium+Vitamin D
For each medicine, we compare Branded Drugs, Branded Generics, Jan Aushadhi, Trade and Local Generics (State Government, Generic Aadhar & Dava India)—testing what patients actually buy from pharmacies.
22 types of medicines, 2-4 categories, 133 drugs in total!
All testing is conducted in FDA & NABL-accredited laboratories using country standards:
- Weight Variation Test — to ensure uniformity of dosage units within a batch
- Identification — to confirm authenticity of the active pharmaceutical ingredient
- Assay Testing — Does the tablet contain what the label claims?
- Dissolution Testing — Does the medicine release properly in your body?
- Impurity Profiling — Are there harmful contaminants?
This project is 100% publicly funded with your help! —no pharmaceutical company sponsorship, no conflicts of interest.
Every Indian deserves medicines that are safe, effective, and trusted—regardless of price.
This is brought to you by The Mission for Ethics and Science in Healthcare (MESH).

The Indian Government's 'fact checker' getting 'fact checked' by Community Notes is dope. If it had happened to anyone with some self respect, they would delete their account and log off. Or at least delete the post.
@AmazonHelp This still has not been solved. And the link you’ve provided doesn’t lead me to an option where I can talk or chat with an agent. The bot doesn’t seem to understand my problem.
Please give me an email ID.
@AmazonHelp@amazonIN my returned item shows this message. When I am trying to contact customer service via chat or talk to us option, I am not even being able to connect to an agent. I am just being redirected to this page again and again.
GST notice to Pani Puri Vendor!!
Small businesses should track their receipts. Often, they accept UPI payments but fail to maintain proper accounting records. As a result, they might not realize their turnover has exceeded 20 lakhs, which is the basic limit for GST registration.
A lot of supplements that celebrities and so-called health influencers (aka influenzas) promote massively on their social media handles are actually a huge waste of time and some, potential health hazards. Most of them promote them because they endorse the brand and get paid for it. Some of them, like certain actresses promote supplemental herbal teas because they have invested in tea shops [https://t.co/An815wVeiZ]
Anyway,
Omega-3 supplements:
The only well documented science-based use is for the reduction of high triglycerides and nothing else. In those who follow vegetarian and vegan diets lacking fish and seafood, omega-3 supplements maybe considered because of possible deficiency. Omega-3 supplements mean fish oil supplements. Plant-based omega-3 supplements are magic dust and serves no purpose really. For everything else, there is limited evidence and for heart disease events, omega-3 has shown to be of no value. Also, blind consumption of omega-3 supplements in healthy people can predispose them to risk of dangerous arrythmias or disorders of heart rate and rythmn (risk increases above 2g per day use).

Magnesium supplements:
The highest promoted, most useless of them all. Magnesium supplementation in those with high blood pressure and documented magnesium deficiency helps reduce blood pressure. Injectable magnesium is also given to pregnant women for a condition called preeclampsia, to reduce seizure risk. For everything else, evidence is poor, very limited and overrated, and a colossal waste of time and money [https://t.co/Cp70JZypJu]
and of course, do not forget about various types of toxicities, which usually develop after blood concentrations exceed 1.74–2.61 mmol/L, and can include low blood pressure/shock, nausea, vomiting, facial flushing, retention of urine, depression, and lethargy before progressing to muscle weakness, difficulty breathing, extreme hypotension, irregular heartbeats and in severe cases, death [https://t.co/DsHUpdDKfQ]
Vitamin D? Only four categories will benefit...
https://t.co/J71G1gVyiO
1. Children aged 1-18 years to prevent rickets and to potentially lower the risk for respiratory tract infections
2. Pregnant people to lower the risk for maternal and fetal or neonatal complications
3. Adults older than 75 years to lower the risk for mortality
4. Adults with prediabetes to lower the risk for type 2 diabetes...
The rest of it all, is a waste of precious testing resources and money wasted on supplementation. Think about it, most people identify vitamin D deficiency only on blood tests - mostly routine whole body check up or if their doctor casually recommends it, not because they actually develop diseases, but have non-specific and insignificant, clinically irrelevant symptoms which they cannot point a finger to. Vitamin D deficiency is every doctors final diagnosis when they cannot actually tell the patient what they suffer from and every adult is almost always deficient in vitamin D, but never actually sick from it.

Vitamin C. Some studies claim that it can reduce the duration of common cold and thats about it. I am still surprised to see people hanging on to this even in 2024. Like I said, (al)most celebrities are complete health and science illiterates. Vitamin C supplementation will just make you pee urine with more vitamin C.
https://t.co/XstD61ufZ7
A whole of vitamin C supplementation on social media is due to the bandwagon fallacy and confirmation biases.
Bandwagon fallacy: https://t.co/f5nFukOL3k
Confirmation bias: https://t.co/v5OnyMyagl
If you develop critical thinking skills, it can act as a vaccine against these celebritiy influenzas.
